What is the new VTNE process?

Last year, AAVSB announced changes to the VTNE process. NAVTA met with AAVSB to get clarifications on those changes and, afterward, asked AAVSB to issue a revised announcement. Here is what AAVSB provided.

Beginning in 2025, the VTNE application process will be streamlined! Eligible candidates will apply directly with the AAVSB to sit for the VTNE.

Who is eligible to sit for the VTNE does not change; if the state/province allows on-the-job-training or an alternate pathway, they will continue to do so.

Also, beginning in 2025, the AAVSB will accept VTNE testing in the final semester if a candidate's accredited program allows it.

Many Horse Care Team members are sick or too far away or otherwise unable to participate as needed.
