We have been super busy these past few months.
We will be posting more adoptable bunnies soon.

As we have several high maintenance furred babies there's a lot of haircuts and shavings done on a regular basis.n

The best clippers we have found this far are these listed in the link below.

They last quite a bit of time but are called "throw away" clippers by many.
So here we are and both of ours have lost their juice. We have also been through a half dozen replacement blades.

If anyone could possibly help us out to purchase between 2-4 of them we would greatly appreciate it. If maybe two to four people could purchase one that would be amazing.
We need at least two because when one loses its charge we have a second available to continue what we are doing.

Well we have the monies and bought supplies.
Now we need physical help. The building is at a standstill at this point until we canbget.some help.

If you know ANYONE that can use a drill, hold and level wood, use air compressor ... please. We need help putting it together .

Our paperwork shows a dismal average of 11 surrender applications per month, equivalent to roughly 3 per week, over the past 13 months.

This is in contrast to the 23 adoption applications received in the last 10 months.
(That includes families who have already adopted. Just wanted to give a comparison)

The weekly emails and texts I receive from individuals who did not submit an application only add to the urgency of the situation.

The situation is dire. Not just adoptions but.finances as well
Education is key. I'm working on articles to help with that.

There are many breeds, sizes and personalities that need a home. Tiny, short hair; tiny long hair. Medium size with lots of attitude. Buns that love to be held, hang out on the couch with you and to be groomed. Some that want to do things on their own terms.
Perfectly healthy and young buns, jsome with some low maintenance medical issues and elderly bunnies.
Most are litter trained. We will be honest about behaviors or any issues to make sure we find the right fit for you.

Well Howdy doodee-doo!

The rest of financing needed to build our bunny building came through. Some of it through fundraising platforms and the remainder from one, very generous donor.
I won't mention names but feel free to tag yourself

So thanks to all of everyone's donations we are finally able to start building.
We have been working hard these past few days on the new bunny building. The heat and humidity is beyond words, so we can only work for so long each day. With LOTS of breaks.

We still need your continued support in all ways possible, whether its grabbing something off our wishlist, donating funds including directly to the vet or just sharing our posts.

We are at around 600 right now and my next goal is 1,000.

Celebrate National Kitten Day with us!

Yes, today is National Kitten Day and we want nothing more than to see pictures of those cute little purr boxes.
But more than pictures, we want to hear their story - how you came to save them and show them unconditional love.
As a rescue those stories always warm our heart.

So to get started, here is a picture and story of our last rescue - Kain.

A local vet clinic gave us a call and informed us that a local police officer found and picked up a kitten from the middle of the highway.
His face was so gunky his eyes were almost completely glued shut, his nose all snotty.
The vet clinic took care of and treated little Kain for his upper respiratory infection and needed a good home for him.
We are always suckers for animals, but the sick and injured ones really tug at our hearts. My wife that "doesn't like cats" is the one who managed to let four of them invade our space , specifically speaking - our bed.
😂🤣

With so many animals coming through our rescue we often struggle with names. Thankfully we didn't have to worry about it this time, the vet clinic decided to name him after the Police officer that found him.

National "Don't put all your eggs in one Omelet" Day!

A wordplay on the old analogy of "don't put all of your eggs into one basket"
Today is a reminder to not concentrating all of your efforts and energy into one single venture, job or vision. It can be gone in an instant.
It is thought this phrase originated in either Italy or Spain and has been used for centuries. It's exact origin is not known.

Remember to, while focusing on your main goal, to also spend some time on a Plan B.
We often get side tracked and concentrate on one goal only. Instead make small goals for each main mission and take your time.

As a vegan I challenge you to use Just Egg®️ and give egg alternatives a chance.
We love to scramble our or make Omelets.

Love your skin!

National skin awareness day.
Yearly Dermatology assessments is a must.
Use the appropriate skin care products recommended by your Derm.

It's hot and sunny out! Sunscreen is non negotiable. Even if you're dark complected, have "never had to wear sunscreen", or even while wearing a hat.
Don't forget your sunscreen chap stick or lip gloss.

It's especially important to wear face and lip sunscreen if you suffer from cold sores.

Take care of the skin you are in, it's the only one you got !
