We are currently looking for a Veterinary Assistant/ Tech for a part time position. There will be occasional customer service duties. This will be fore Wednesday am, all day Thursday and Fridays 8 to noon. This job will also include 1 to 2 Saturdays a month from 8:30 to 11:30. We will be open Christmas Eve from 8:00 to 11. Closed Christmas Day. We will open at 10 am December 26th. On New Years Eve we will be open 8 until 12. The clinic is closed New Years Day. We open at 10am on January 2. If you have an emergency, please call the clinic. Dr. Reid is on call and our service will put you through. Thank you everyone for your patience while I have been recuperating. I am back to work this week. Thanks to Dr. Fox, Dr. Whittford and Dr. Varner plus my outstanding staff for caring for our patients and giving me time to recover. It was so nice to not have to worry and know the clinic was in great hands, I will have some small limitations in the next few weeks.

If you have been to the clinic in the last 6 weeks, you are aware that I have been dealing with a broken leg and knee issues. The leg has healed and in November, I am going to have a total knee replacement due to the amount of damage. The clinic will be covered and in the capable hands of my staff, Dr. Fox. Dr Whittford and Dr. Varner. Unfortunately for the first time since opening in 1996, there will not be emergency coverages available. I am sorry for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. The goal is to be back to work in 3 weeks on the first part of December. Blue Pearl in Cedar Rapids is once again open for emergencies and is used by a majority of the clinics in this area. We are doing our best to accommodate everyone's medical and surgical needs before next Monday the 11th. Thanks again for understanding.

A heavy freeze next week unfortunately might not bring a end to allergy season. Many dogs, we find on allergy testing suffer from allergies to corn pollen. Even town dogs can not escape this pollen with the elevators going full speed with harvest. We are here to help provide relief if your dogs are uncomfortable.

If you have been at the clinic the last week, you might have noticed Dr. Reid has been gimping around the clinic. She finally broke down yesterday and went to the ER. Turns out her leg is broken. She is still seeing her normal appointments with few minor adjustments. This is all due to her wonderful staff. During this time we ask that you please call to bring your pets in during normal business hours as much as possible. Many of the emergency calls involve pets that have been sick for 3 to 5 days. It would be helpful to see the pets, not only when staff is available to help, but also before they are so sick it takes longer to get them better. Thank you in advance for your patience over the next few weeks.
