Today I made Spiced Christmas Jam, Apple Butter, Orange Marmalade, and another version of Christmas Jam without the seasoning. Just over 7 dozen jars sealed and ready for Christmas sale next week in Norman. Soaps are coming along, I’m getting lotion bars done, some more car diffusers, and a few other goodies.

They joys of being woke up by very upset and frightened chickens. Something finally managed to dig a hole and take a bird. We didn’t get up in time to find it but we will get it next time.

Raw milk is so dangerous.

Raw milk leads to raw cream.

Raw cream leads to raw butter and homemade raw ice cream.

Raw butter leads to homemade breads.

Raw ice cream leads to homemade chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, butterscotch….

Raw milk leads to wanting a cream separator, antique butter churns, collecting of all 19th century butter molds.

Raw milk leads to cows and goats of your own, and then they multiply.

It’s a buttery slope…

We are in a drought. It is so dry and dusty. So far the goats and chickens are doing well but worried about feed costs. I’ve already lost 1 bee hive and worried about another. We will have to make a trip down to Paris Tx (10hr round trip) to get more bee feed. Everyone help out your farmers In NW Oklahoma. Buy local!

This is Gingerbread Cookie Triple butter bar with extras to create lather.

It is oddly satisfying to watch the process of filling the bottles.

Not my bees ore reel but look at all the pollinators. Lots of butterflies, bees, and other insects are active. I know the video isn’t as clear as I would like.

Soil block base. I haven’t added perlite or supplements.

Echinacea is growing and I’m excited. This is a difficult one sometimes from what I have been told.

Our Story

Family ran farm that is in the process of building and growing. We have farm fresh eggs and Red Wattle pigs for sale. The pigs can be breeders (registered) or feeders.

We only use antibiotics if and when the animal needs them. I document the use of the medication and can tell the purchaser which ones had medication, why, dosage, and when the medication was given. We are working on getting the pigs on full pasture and permitting them more space to roam. We are farrow crate free production and encourage as natural of a setting as possible.

Our chickens are free range. They are let out of their coop every morning and permitted to range during the day. Currently we do not sale meat birds only eggs (for eating). Our eggs range in color from a creamy white, dark brown, to a blue. Sizes vary but are normally considered a large egg. Eggs are collected daily, candled, washed if needed, and placed in a refrigerator after labeled with date of collection.
