Here’s a quick reference to what my prices are.
You are paying for my skills, time, service, cost of materials and maintenance, education, experience, and quality service. House call grooming from inside your home is a luxury service. It’s totally okay if this isn’t in your budget or your preferred grooming style. I highly recommend Zen Dog Spa in Asheville if you would rather take your dogs to someone.

Just a friendly reminder I am a professionally trained and a skilled dog groomer. My passion with grooming is focused on groom training and gentle methods to help your dog has minimal stress. This isn’t a hobby, this has been my career for the last 10 years. My prices aren’t for negotiation. I’m happy to offer a discount here and there when I can.

Service Dogs and the ADA: Why Vests Are Not Required

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) does not mandate that service dogs wear vests. This is because vests can be expensive, uncomfortable, or impractical for some dogs. Moreover, the ADA recognizes that service dogs come in all shapes, sizes, and breeds, and a vest does not necessarily indicate that a dog is a service animal.

Why You Should Still Assume Every Dog Is a Working Dog

Despite the lack of a vest requirement, it's crucial to treat all dogs in public as potential working dogs. Here's why:

* Invisible Disabilities: Many people with disabilities do not have visible physical impairments. Their service dogs may not be wearing vests, making it difficult to identify them as such.
* Distractions: Approaching or distracting a working dog can disrupt their focus and hinder their ability to assist their handler.
* Legal Consequences: Interfering with a service dog is illegal under the ADA and could result in fines or other penalties.

How to Respect Service Dogs

To ensure that service dogs can perform their duties effectively, follow these guidelines:

* Don't Approach or Pet: Unless explicitly invited by the handler, do not approach or pet a dog that is with someone.
* Maintain Distance: Give service dogs plenty of space to move around and perform their tasks.
* Avoid Eye Contact: Dogs can interpret eye contact as a challenge or threat. Avoid making direct eye contact with a service dog.
* If in Doubt, Ask: If you're unsure whether a dog is a service animal, politely ask the handler.

Remember, service dogs are an essential lifeline for people with disabilities. By respecting their boundaries and understanding the importance of their work, we can ensure that they can continue to provide the support and assistance their handlers need.

Hey folks just a friendly reminder that I am a house call groomer, not a mobile groomer. ✨I do not have a van nor do I intend on getting one. ☀️Whats the difference you might ask? A house call groomer comes into to your home and sets up there to groom. This service is great for dogs that are anxious, don’t like going places, doesn’t like being away from their human or is just happy to be home. My favorite clients love this service because they get to see and witness the care their pets receive. I don’t plan to get a van as this would disrupt the service my regular clients enjoy. The doggies that love being groomed at home would not appreciate being brought into a new space. Home is comfortable for dogs and it makes grooming so much more enjoyable for them. My passion stays with my doggie friends not how I can make more profit.

Following My Heart: A Journey of Compassionate Dog Grooming

As I reflect on my 10-year journey in dog grooming, I'm filled with gratitude and joy. It's a path that has taught me the true meaning of passion, love, kindness, and empathy. My love affair with dog grooming began with a chance encounter with an incredible mentor and friend, who not only taught me the skills of the trade but also instilled in me a deep understanding of the importance of compassion and care in every interaction with our furry friends. Thank you so much Nancy Beasley with Hot Diggity Dog Grooming in Marshall NC! I wouldn’t have this amazing career without you!

My education at Animal Behavioral College for dog grooming and Catch Canine Academy for dog training further solidified my commitment to providing top-notch care for the dogs in my life. But it's my experience and observations that have truly shaped my approach to grooming. I've come to realize that the traditional salon setting often prioritizes profit over the well-being of our beloved companions. I've seen firsthand the stress and anxiety that can come with a busy, noisy salon environment.

That's why I made the conscious decision to leave behind the chaos of the salon and focus on providing personalized, in-home grooming experiences that put the needs of each individual dog at the forefront. By embracing the Lima approach, I'm able to offer a more gentle, positive, and stress-free experience for every furry friend that enters my care. I do miss having my salon from time to time. I learned a lot there! One thing I learned about owning my salon and grooming in it was that I didn’t have enough time to do what I actually set out to do- and that’s offer holistic grooming practices that are 100% for the dogs. I spent too much of my time focusing on admin things and having to meet a certain amount of money to cover expenses, this really started affect the way I ran my business. I thought maybe moving it to a bigger city (Asheville) would help out with that. Once I got to Asheville that’s when I learned I had two choices- 1. Be the boss and run the place. 2. Close the location and work for the dogs instead. This and unfortunately having epilepsy guided me in the direction I needed to go.

In my heart, I know that dogs thrive when they feel safe and in control. And what better way to provide that sense of security than in the comfort of their own homes? By devoting myself to this approach, I'm not only improving the lives of the dogs I care for but also honoring my own values of kindness, empathy, and compassion.

As I continue on this journey, I'm excited to share my passion with you and your furry loved ones. Let's work together to create a more gentle, loving, and stress-free grooming experience that puts the needs of our dogs first. They truly do deserve grooming that is tailored to their unique needs.

Today’s enrichment walk with Archie! We covered 5 miles and 3 different spots on the river for enrichment & cool off breaks!
Why Enrichment Walks are Vital for Your Dog's Overall Health and Happiness

As dog owners, we know that taking our furry friends on regular walks is essential for their physical health. But did you know that a simple walk around the block can be so much more than just a potty break? Enrichment walks are a game-changer for your dog's overall health and happiness, and in this post, we'll dive into why.

What are Enrichment Walks?

A traditional walk often involves a straightforward stroll around the neighborhood or a brisk walk to get some exercise. An enrichment walk, on the other hand, is a walk that's designed to stimulate your dog's mind and senses. It's an opportunity to engage your dog's natural instincts, challenge their problem-solving skills, and provide mental stimulation.

Why are Enrichment Walks Important?

1. Reduces Boredom and Stress: Enrichment walks help to reduce boredom and stress in dogs, which can lead to destructive behavior, anxiety, and depression. By providing mental stimulation, you're giving your dog a healthy outlet for their energy and curiosity.
2. Improves Problem-Solving Skills: Enrichment walks encourage your dog to think critically and solve problems, which can help improve their cognitive function and build confidence.
3. Enhances Sensory Experience: Enrichment walks engage your dog's senses, including sight, smell, hearing, and touch. This helps to stimulate their natural instincts and provides a more engaging and enjoyable experience.
4. Boosts Physical Health: While traditional walks focus on physical exercise, enrichment walks can also improve your dog's physical health by encouraging them to move in different ways, such as sniffing, exploring, and investigating.
5. Strengthens Bond: Enrichment walks provide an opportunity for quality time with your dog, strengthening your bond and building trust.

How to Create an Enrichment Walk:

1. Mix Up the Route: Vary your walking route to keep things interesting and prevent boredom.
2. Add Sniffing Stations: Create sniffing stations with treats, toys, or scents to engage your dog's sense of smell. Sniffing stations simply can be checking the p*e mail from another dog on the light pole! If it engages your dog it’s a great sniff!
3. Incorporate Problem-Solving Activities: Add activities that challenge your dog's problem-solving skills, such as puzzle toys or hidden treats for short walks around your home or yard.

Last but not least let your dog be a dog. Long lines are great for sniff walks! We aren’t focused on a perfect heel, however we do want to maintain a good balance with on leash manners even if we are excited!
