**Job Title:** Experienced Dog Trainer
**Location:** Tri-Cities, TN (Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol)

We are looking for an experienced Dog Trainer who is passionate about helping dogs and their owners succeed. As part of our team, you’ll lead private lessons, group classes, and train programs. You’ll guide owners through training techniques, problem-solving, and behavior management while ensuring a positive experience for every client.
The Dog Wizard Tri-Cities is a balanced dog training company dedicated to helping dogs and their owners build strong, lasting relationships. Our programs focus on obedience, behavior modification, and confidence-building, using a combination of positive reinforcement and corrective techniques. We work with dogs of all breeds and ages, tailoring training to their individual needs.
**Position Overview**
We are looking for an experienced Dog Trainer who is passionate about helping dogs and their owners succeed. As part of our team, you’ll lead private lessons, group classes, and day train programs. You’ll guide owners through training techniques, problem-solving, and behavior management while ensuring a positive experience for every client.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct hands-on training sessions using balanced training methods
- Educate owners on effective training techniques and behavioral solutions
- Develop personalized training plans based on each dog’s needs
- Work with dogs of varying temperaments, breeds, and behavioral challenges
- Maintain a professional and positive relationship with clients
- Participate in marketing and promotional efforts, including demonstrations and workshops

- Minimum 1 year of professional dog training experience (balanced training preferred)
- Strong understanding of canine behavior, learning theory, and obedience training
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments confidently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to continue learning and improving training techniques
