A Good Samaritan brought us these little babies after she found them playing in the middle of Jonesborough Highway this morning.
We genuinely can’t thank her enough for picking them up despite needing to get to work because we feel certain they wouldn’t have survived without her help! 🙏 We’re treating some minor scrapes on both, but we feel confident they are going to be just fine!
🌟 We’d love some name suggestions for these two little miracles! 🌟 For context, the kitten with the scrape on the mouth is sweet and loving, the other is a spicy little boy but we think he’ll come around!

We are looking for a foster OR adopter for one magnificent girl. This is Starbies, she has been a mother to four of the sweetest little puppies. She was the best mother; attentive and caring. She ensured her puppies received the love and nutrients needed to thrive, and she is now ready for the spotlight to be on her!
According to Starbies' previous foster Mom, she has become best buds with her dog (meaning she could go to a dog friendly home--yay!!!) and she is the BEST walking buddy ever! She is very outgoing and enjoys meeting new people while out and about. Starbies thoroughly enjoys having a bone or puzzle toy to keep her occupied when her person(s) needs to leave the house. She rarely ever barks, only when she thinks she needs your attention! Starbies is also potty trained!
She's just under a year old and weighs 40 pounds. She is fully grown!

🎉 New hours and days of operation for Wags to Riches beginning next week! 🎉
We’ve received feedback from many shoppers wishing that we stayed open later. Well, ask and you shall receive! Beginning 9/17, we will be open an EXTRA HOUR each day! We will close at 6PM instead of 5PM. This will allow for a whole extra hour of shopping for thrifted treasures while helping needy animals with the Appalachian Highlands Humane Society!
Also, this is the last Monday in which we’ll be open to the public. Moving forward, we will close on Mondays to allow our staff two (well-deserved) consecutive days off.

Meet Frankie, the gorgeous Aussie! ❤️
She came to the AHHS after being passed around from owner to owner. She first had owners that were elderly and did not have the time/energy for her. Her second owner was a younger individual, but they worked long work hours and made the decision to surrender her.
We had what was seemingly the perfect person come along for her, however, it was later determined that she would do best as the only dog in the home. This individual has a kind heart and patience and is helping us by fostering her while we look for her adoptive home.
Frankie would prefer to be the sole focus, receiving all the undivided attention from her owner(s). We are requiring Frankie's adopter to either be experienced with her breed or be willing to do thorough research as we do not wish to see her returned yet another time. She deserves a loving, forever home with someone that is understanding of her needs. An ideal candidate for Frankie would be someone home often, that is active and has no other dogs in the household. She is insanely intelligent, very motivated to learn, and loves to please. Once her brain and body has been worked through stimulation and play, she loves to cuddle up with her person(s).

A quick Puppy Fostering 101: - We ask that you be willing to foster 2 at a time (we prefer for a puppy to have a sibling with him/her while awaiting a forever home). -We supply EVERYTHING you will need to foster (food, bedding, puppy pads, newspapers, toys, you name it!) - We have a network of fosters that are willing to share advice and experiences with you whenever needed. - I (Halee) am also available around-the-clock should you have any questions or emergencies. -Fostering typically lasts anywhere from 2-4 weeks. - Want to adopt one of your foster pups? No problem! Our fosters get first dibs on adoption. We just ask that you still be willing to foster the pup’s sibling until adopted. -We check on your foster pups frequently and keep you up-to-date on when vaccines, deworming, and spay/neuter appointments are scheduled. -What we expect from you?
