Attention Parents! 📢 Need a great way for your high schooler to complete their community service hours? We could really use their help!

Hopeful Tails Animal Rescue has several hands-on, flexible opportunities for students to earn their hours while making a big difference for our pups. Here’s how they can help:

🔨 Option 1: Build Wooden Storage Crates—If your teen enjoys working with their hands, they can help us by building much-needed wooden storage crates from home! They can drop them off at our rescue, or we can arrange for pickup if transportation is an issue. We’ll be setting up a Saturday morning meeting to go over the size and measurements. If interested, email [email protected] with "Community Service Hours" in the subject line.

💡 Option 2: Get Creative with Fundraising—Your teen can host their own mini-fundraisers to raise money for our rescue, which can then be used to purchase must-need items from our Amazon Wish List or even pre-built wooden storage crates from Facebook Marketplace to donate to our rescue.
Some fun ideas:
• Organize a bake sale featuring homemade treats. 🍪
• Set up a dog-wash day for friends and neighbors. 🐶🚿

🏡 Option 3: Help On-Site at Our Rescue—For those who prefer hands-on work, we have projects at our facility that your teen can assist with.

Meet Our New Dog of the Week: Autumn! 🍂💛

Autumn is a sweet, affectionate and playful 2-year-old pup who is more than ready for her forever home! 🏡💙

Autumn is the perfect mix of gentle and goofy. She loves to cuddle, play and explore. Her foster family describes her as loyal, smart and always up for some fun. Whether she’s romping around with her doggy friends or lounging by your side, she brings so much love and joy to every moment. 💗

She’s also house-trained, up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed, so she’s all set to transition into her forever home.

One thing we’ve learned? Autumn absolutely thrives with another dog! She feels more confident and happy when she has a canine companion to show her the ropes. Her tail wags nonstop when she’s with other pups, and she loves to play, snuggle and learn from them. 🤗

Because of this, we’re looking for a home with a friendly resident dog who can be her playmate and guide. She’s also great with kids, making her an amazing addition to a loving family.

Join us on March 14 at our rescue for a fun-filled night of bingo, prizes and delicious dinner, drinks and dessert! Doors open at 6:30pm, and the games begin at 7:00pm. For $30, you’ll get one bingo card per game, plus food and water/pop.

Today's Valentine in the spotlight is Mrs. Peacock! 💘

You might remember Mrs. Peacock from our Dog of the Week feature a few weeks ago! She is still on the hunt for her happily ever after. As a two-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, weighing about 30lbs, Mrs. Peacock enjoys playing, cuddling, learning new skills and receiving treats. She would fit right in with an active family that also likes to relax. It's a bonus if she gets to have furry siblings as she loves other dogs!

Our staff describes Mrs. Peacock as friendly, affectionate, loyal, gentle, playful, smart and funny. 🦚

Today's Valentine in the spotlight is Ryker! 💘

Ryker is just over a year and a half old, weighing in at 30lbs. He's a Labrador Retriever mix, full of love, loyalty and smarts! Due to his past, Ryker can be a bit shy when initially meeting new people, but he warms and his personality shines once he knows you. He has done well with a few dogs that he has been to events with, but he has a hesitant nature around other dogs, especially larger ones, so a home where he would be the only dog is ideal.

Our staff describes Ryker as friendly, affectionate, loyal, gentle, playful, smart, funny and loves kisses. 🤗

As you can see in the photo, Ryker has a lot of love and smiles to give with those pearly whites. Will you be his second chance? Ryker deserves to find his loving forever family. 🥹
