I have been horrible about posting here!! Just realized why I keep getting asked if we are still building boxes, I haven’t posted anything in over a year!!!
Yes, we are still building. I Did take care of some health issues over the summer, so our lead time was crazy long. I have also spent a lot of time sourcing product and begging for price reductions from our current vendors. Pricing is still up $50 from what it was a year ago, but that is much better than the $100 I was going to have to pass on at the start of the summer.

Here’s to a safe hunting season this year.

Over the summer, We took a lot of time reviewing prices and price increases. The aluminum market continues to go through the roof. Although we dislike price increases as much anyone else, it’s something that we simply can’t avoid. Effective today September 15th, all dog boxes will be going up by $100 and dog houses by $75. If we have quoted you a price and you have a box/house on order we will honor that pricing. We will continue to monitor our pricing. If prices fall, we will do a price decrease. As we have always said, we aren’t looking to build a mansion with our profits, but we must maintain a level of profit that makes the time and effort feasible.

The covid shutdowns have been very bad for some, for me, it has made me the busiest I have ever been. I want to thank each and every one of our customers and dealers. I have survived homeschool, covid in the household, price increases and more shortages than I can count. My daughters and grandson have returned to school which has given me some relief. With all this being said, Kyle and I have jointly made the decision to back off making dog boxes so that we can spend the summer with our girls and grandson. Effective June 1st, I will stop building dog boxes. I plan on continuing to take orders, but will not resume full production until Sept 1st. I plan on finishing all current in house orders before I shut down.
This shutdown in no way whatsoever means that we are closing the doors nor are we financially struggling. As Eric Church says “you liked the thought of chasing life instead of dollar bills”

If you’re ever wondering how small of a business we are, this is the same barn we started out running 5-10 boxes a month in. In this picture is 48 of the 72 boxes we currently have on order. We’ve grown a lot, but still manage to make our comfy little barn work.
