Happy Tails Playcare would like to thank all our military veterans, active service members, and the incredible K9 heroes who have served and continue to serve alongside them. 🐾❤️

Fun Facts:

Dogs have served in the U.S. military for over 100 years.
Their official service began in World War I, and today, they’re a vital part of nearly every military branch.

🐕 2. Military Working Dogs (MWDs) are trained for incredible missions.
They detect explosives, locate missing soldiers, track enemies, and protect their handlers — often saving countless lives.

❤️ 3. These heroes form unbreakable bonds.
A dog’s loyalty doesn’t end when deployment does. Many retired MWDs are adopted by their handlers, becoming lifelong family.

🌎 4. There are thousands of K9s serving around the world today.
Each one is carefully selected for intelligence, courage, and drive — from German Shepherds to Belgian Malinois and even small breeds for scent detection!

🎖️ 5. Some have been awarded medals of valor.
Dogs like Lucca, a U.S. Marine Corps German Shepherd, completed over 400 missions without losing a single soldier under her watch.
