True West Extravaganza - Day #2, afternoon/evening shenanigans included an amazing swim, BEARS! (Momma and 2 cubs), playing in the rain and a campfire, music and s’mores. It’s 9am, kids are still passed out, but breakfast is on the griddle! Riding the Cumberland Valley Loop today! 💕

If you haven’t pre-registered or paid, REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT 9:30am. If you aren’t registered and paid by the close of registration, you will not be permitted to enter.

Perfect weather for an amazing day at Phipps Bend today with our mob! 💕

What an amazing day with an incredible group of young ladies! We had a light crew this weekend, but we went to compete in our first CT at the Biltmore today. The girls all turned in very respectable dressage scores (except for Simon, who demonstrated Grand Prix ability at inappropriate moments) and jumped their first course in competition on turf. We got a little trail ride in in the river to cool down, had us a lovely lunch at the estate and even hit the creamery before we headed back over the mountain. Proud of these girls, who all pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone to try something new today.

We loved the venue, the show was well run and the staff all incredibly welcoming and kind! We’ll be back! 💕

Combined training tomorrow at the Biltmore Estate!

4 little barn rats and one old dog…..in bed by 10:30pm, not as early as I had hoped, but all of their tack needed cleaning and their horses apparently needed full spa treatments in preparation for the show tomorrow (there were quite literally hair dryers involved) and I couldn’t argue with that.

5:30am is going to come awful early….but if we don’t get loaded up and on the road I won’t have time for Starbucks, and no one wants that!

Have you ever seen a 17.1 hand monster limbo to come check to see what the hold up is on his breakfast alfalfa?!? We had to set up a camera to catch him, and yes, he knew it was there!! 😂🤷‍♀️

It’s LOIS, the comeback kid, back in action! Cooking a Warmblood baby and taking names. Toughest mare in the world. ❤️

New team handshake…I think it needs some work! ❤️

Two of our 10 and 12 year old students started schooling on lead changes and understanding the similarities of the lead change and landing leads today….. ……after a phenomenal lesson, I asked them if they learned anything as they left the arena to cool off together down the road. They both agreed, no knowledge gained today. 😂😂 We’re sneaking up on them, stealth mode style. ❤️

Charlie’s first ride on Rikki in 6 months or longer…we can’t even remember!

It’s almost SHOW TIME!! 10pm, finishing schooling, dragging the indoor and outdoor and setting courses and we’re ready! Gates open at 8am, show starts at 10am, sharp! ❤️

Our work to become like the Spanish Gaucho has begun, with an end goal of cantering perfect circles with our poles set…… …..or the goal might have been to desensitize our ponies and work on our horsemanship. It might have been to give the girls a little distraction from the hard work they’ve been putting in. It might have been to make them giggle for a minute. ….no matter the goal, we’re on a quest. ❤️
