Normal body temperature for dogs and cats is 101.0 to 102.5°F (38.3 to 39.2°C). Some people and some pets maintain a baseline temperature a little above or below the average, but if your pet’s temperature rises above 104°F (40.0°C) or falls below 99°F (37.2°C), take your pet to your veterinarian. Keeping a dedicated thermometer for your pets can help you assess when pets are not feeling their best. We've got thermometers with VET written right on them so no confusion with whose they are! And they make great stocking stuffers for the furry ones! $10 each.

Sgt. Balu had a great day working a special lunch event. He is a German Shorthaired Pointer and one of a handful of kinetic detection dogs working in the South. Sgt. Balu regularly inspects building, sports venues like football stadiums and schools. He "hits" on a multitude of smells, specifically those emitted by explosives and weapons. His handler and partner is SRO Katy Pellien.
