As we close another season, we're reminded that every ending marks a new beginning. This season flew by, but its impact will last. We successfully recovered 45 deer out of 94 tracks, 8 confirmed alive. Though we couldn't retrieve every deer, it's a sobering reminder of the challenges that make us better at what we do. Beau has grown both in experience and maturity, and we're eager to see what's next. To every hunter and tracker who joined us, thank you for an unforgettable season and for letting us be part of your journey.

Have a safe and blessed 2026!

Just a little late-night recovery with the boys. We had to push the limit on wait times for this situation with the incoming weather. Just glad the deer had expired. This deer was beat up and had a tough time ahead. Its left front hoof was barely hanging on and had rotted badly. His jaw was damaged and also rotting and had puss coming out. He was extremely small and was badly covered in ticks. He had an incredible rack for his body size. He was gut-shot twice and even bedded five yards from the hunter for minutes before getting up and walking off (video in comments). He only made it 200 yards and bedded down. He likely died about an hour or two before we found him.

It's incredible to think that we've reached our 150th recovery - a testament to our dedication and perseverance. I'm grateful for a loyal companion like Beau, who has made this journey an enriching experience. We continue to learn and grow, and I'm excited to see what the future holds. Congratulations Chris Sykes on another impressive buck.

Just some pups and deers. Beau and Boone’s Trail Deer Recovery work so well together. I like to call them "Rocky and Bullwinkle" 🤣. Two great tracks tonight. A young mans first buck and a intestine/gut shot that went 1200 yards!

Just two dogs and a couple of bucks, because who needs anything more? Had an epic day that started with linking up with my bro Tommy Duke to track his buck he had shot the morning before. Those two dogs were like little detectives, figuring it out fast, and man, what a beast of a first archery buck for Tommy Duke. We also got to help two awesome kids recover their trophies, and yeah, we saw some happy tears. There were plenty of laughs too, and let's be real, SXS rides are always the icing on the cake. Also check out this awesome work by beau working a grid searched zone perfectly and then lining right out 300 yards to the buck

Ended the day 2 for 2 with this doe recovery on some public land. The deer was shot quartering to, and arrow placement was good, behind the shoulder and exited the gut. After a failed attempt at tracking, we went in and Beau quickly sealed the deal in about 250 yards. I love to see hunters shooting does.

Beau crushed it this morning. He tracked a nice buck for a young lady 900 yards. Okay, so maybe he wasn't perfect - he missed a turn because that CRP wind was messing with him. But he powered through and I could tell when he was all, 'Hey, where's that buck?' After he got back on track, it was game on. We got another one lined up in a few hours. Its dry and windy we need rain bad!

After a rejuvenating day off, we resumed our efforts and made another hunter's day. Beau was in top form, tracking with remarkable precision. We have a promising opportunity lined up for the morning, and we're looking forward to it 🤞. Additionally, we received a couple confirmations of life, which was truly uplifting.

Sore is the word to describe how Beau and I feel right now, we're basically zombies. Beau was a bit lethargic this morning, so he had a honey stick and some good protein, and he's resting today, aka the ultimate life hack. We may rest tomorrow as well, pending any lined-up tracks for the morning, because sleep is the best track. Definitely the busiest season by far, I'm pretty sure I've aged 10 years. 31 recoveries on the season so far and the season is young. Here are the ones from the last two days.
