Salem was happy to see his mom after spending a few days with us. Thanks to him having a registered microchip, he was able to be reunited. Picked up in Topeka and made his way to Junction City. Microchips are amazing!!

One of Vanessa's major passions is community outreach - she goes out and spends time explaining all the different things we do at the shelter. She is always helping those understand more about Animal Welfare! She singlehandedly started our wonderful TNR program, which has had GREAT success!!

Meet Takara! She started her career in animal welfare working at our local animal shelter in 2019 where she worked for a few years before coming into vet med. Her favorite surgery to tech for is an exploratory and her favorite part about being a tech is getting to work with anxious animals to try and turn the experience into a good one!

Meet Callie! She graduated tech school in 2016 and has been a tech for the last 8 years! Her favorite surgery to tech for is an exploratory and her favorite part about being a tech is being hands on and the animals she gets to help! Callie is a true asset to this team! We are so thankful!

This handsome boy is 15 months old and has lived 13 of those months as an outdoor dog here smack dab in the middle of Junction City. Today he tested positive for heartworms. We can not say it enough, heartworm prevention is an important part of a dogs life. Heartworm disease is a silent killer. You find out by running a test with your veterinarian, or when your dog goes into heart failure and it is too late. They are spread by mosquitoes and while they are much more common in the south, they are here in Kansas and in our area! It is never too late to get your dog started on prevention!
