Junction City, KS Animal Shelter Our goal is to place our animals in the best hands, making sure they have a forever home! (After hours, press 0 when you hear the recording).

If you have found an animal, please call the JCPD (785-762-5912) to contact our Animal Control. When adopting a dog, we have everyone go through an adoption application. Here are the steps:
1. Visit the shelter and see what dog perks your interest.
2. Have part of the shelter staff take dog out of cage (if not on stray hold) for you to associate with.
3. If still interested, fill out an adoption

application.
4. Give the shelter a few days to review all the applications on said dog. Adoption fees for dogs:
$145

If you are interested in a cat
1. Have one of the shelter staff take the cat out of the cage (unless on stray hold) and have you associate with it.
2. If all goes well, you can fill out an adoption application to adopt the cat and take them home the same day! Adoption fees for cats
$95

Yes, you see that right- we are HIRING for 2 Full-Time positions.

1. Schedule is Thursday-Sunday 7AM-6PM with 1-hour lunch (unpaid)
2. Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday 7am-6pm with 1-hour lunch (unpaid).

These positions come with:
❤️ Insurance options
❤️ PTO
❤️ $15/hour after the New Year
❤️ 3 days off each week

We aren't going to sugar coat it, this can be TOUGH work. We handle cleaning, sanitizing, indoor & outdoor work year-round. Loving animals is only part of the job- the rest can be taxing! "We have Luna (formally Lettie) and have had her for over a year now. She is the light of our lives. She is the biggest cuddle bug and loves being a lapdog. She enjoys playing with her brother Remi and is even taking classes for K-9 certification! We are so happy we found her!!"

This sweet girl came into us with severe Upper Respiratory symptoms- sneezing, stuffy nose, mucous. She was placed on antibiotics, however, she continued to go downhill. Dr. Shamburg was quick thinking and thought we should search for a polyp! Lo and behold, she had a VERY LARGE one blocking her breathing, resting near her soft pallet. She is feeling much better and is enjoying being able to breathe normally!

Oh Grandma, we love you! We just want you to find a home 😔

We want to educate you on the importance of using precaution when handling stray animals- although we do not recommend you do. Ringworm CAN be seen by naked eye, but sometimes it is harder. The light we used is called a woods lamp and all cats are subjected to this during their physical examination! 🐾

Sweet Piranha and Sputnik are still looking for a forever home. Both good with other dogs 🐕 Both cute 🥰 Both fixed, fully vaccinated, dewormed and current on preventions. ✨ What’s holding you back??
