Level 3, Day 2: Complete!
I finally had the opportunity to video this and I’m so excited!
I have mentioned a lot lately about ribcage restriction. If you look closely at the videos posted below, you’ll notice a few things.
First, when I push or pull on the withers, you can see how restriction in the thoracic sling comes into play. In the first video, you’ll notice that when asked to move, the entire horse shifts. Often you’ll see he has to pick up a foot to accommodate the motion.
Once we have released all restrictions, you’ll notice that he is more than capable to roll the ribcage when asked. The withers, ribs, and sternum shift while the feet remain planted on the ground.
To understand what is happening, put your elbows against your sides. Now, try to lift one shoulder at a time without releasing your elbows. You can’t. Your entire upper body moves as one to elevate the shoulder. Now release your elbows and lift your shoulder. You can freely lift the shoulder and the chest/ upper body moves fluidly to allow it. While we aren’t anatomically the same in the shoulders, this is the best way to describe and understand what we are accomplishing here.
Additionally you’ll notice his front end has changed significantly. As part of releasing the front end, we have stretched and softened all muscle surrounding the scapula, then stretched, lifted, and opened the shoulders themselves. This enables the horses to work softly and balanced in the front end.
This really is so much more than just massage. This is whole body balancing and release to achieve the best possible moving and performing animal.
This and MUCH more coming for our ⭐️ Level 3 ⭐️ courses!
I love my job!
This was a pretty neat transformation I had the other day. This horse has a large variety of areas of tension needing fixed, but in these videos we are primarily looking at the effects of contracted hip flexors and a very tight psoas. In the first video, you’ll notice the dragging of the back feet, very flat motion of the pelvis, and sucked in appearance of the ribcage (psoas and diaphragm go hand in hand).
By the end of the session, we had a significant improvement in overall motion and carriage. The first few steps in the “after” video don’t appear changed, but then you’ll see the hind end “wake up” and start to lift and move more freely. Notice also the ribcage is significantly more relaxed.
This isn’t just massage. This is changing lives and giving a fresh physical start 🪄

This is a very dramatic example of a nerve impingement that gives you an idea of just how much it can affect the body. This mare is in her 20s and hasn’t had consistent body work. What’s interesting is this mare breathes very loudly/ heavy through her nose. The more I worked to release this impingement, the quieter she got. She was also holding a ton of tension through her hyoid apparatus that was reluctant to release. I’d best describe it as a paralysis of the tongue as a result of this impingement.
I’m really excited to see what we can do over a few sessions with this mare!
Stride-Right Specialty Bodywork. More than just massage.
Front Limb Range of Motion stretch series
Abdominal lift, pelvic rotation
Muscular Release of the Tmj and Hyoid
The big announcement !
Edit- It’s come to my attention that while I knew this was edging toward the line of vet work, it potentially crosses it 🙄 Dumb legal terminology. But regardless of if the name changes or not, the growth plan remains the same!
We would like to express sincere gratitude to those that have served and are serving in the military of this great country. Thank you! In the words of my son, “thank you beterans” ❤️🇺🇸
Muscle release
So this started as a video trying to capture a large muscle spasm on video. I wasn’t able to capture that as it released my first palpation, but I decided to continue filming.
This video shows just how amazing the equine body truly is! Watch my hand sink deeper and deeper as the tension settles!
Too cool not to share!
