We are a 501(c)(3) not for profit shelter that services the Dodge County area. We operate under DATCP Dog Facility Operator License Number 267299.

�We do not have online applications. All applications have to be completed in person at the time of meeting.

�We do not require appointments to view the animal you're interested in. We however do not have open viewing of our dogs; so we do ask that you know who you would like to meet with.

�Our application process is not first come first serve. We base our decisions on what we feel would be th

e right fit home for the animal. Not all adoptions are same day. It depends on the status of the animal you're interested in and if management is available.

�We schedule all of our cat and dog surrenders for certain days and times of the week. If this is something you have to do please give us a call for further pricing and scheduling information.

�We offer dog walking every day of the week 9am-12pm. There is no sign up necessary. You just need to show up and staff will assist you from there.

Lucky Mimi, or Lucky for short, is a gorgeous 4 month old mixed breed ready to show you a little luck in love! Found all by herself, Lucky is tired of being alone and is ready to join your family. Lucky’s favorite thing is to be outside playing fetch or sunbathing. When she isn't in playful puppy mode, this amazing girlie is snuggled and cuddled up right next to you.

Meet Maxo!

An Australian Shepherd mix with "golden retriever energy" Maxo is an AMAZING example of an all around good dog. He does amazing with dogs and kids of all ages & sizes, proving to be a great role model for learning how to play and cuddle. Maxo THRIVES in a home capable of giving him the attention and training that he needs. He is still very much a puppy!

* Mostly Housetrained, Fully crate trained
* Great with other dogs, loves to play and enjoys the dog park
* Highly food motivated boy, will find a snack if he gets bored

Maple is a darling GSD mix, but she is just a baby! At 5 months old, this petite little girl is hoping for someone to scoop her up immediately, and give her the real life she was born to live. In between playtime, and snacks, Maple loves hanging out with her people and the occasional nap.

Meet Dipper!

Dipper is a sweet and affectionate goofball. About 2 years old, he wakes up every morning in a good mood and ready to play. He loves to run outside and often gets the case of the zoomies! Dipper loves people and strives to be a constant loyal companion. With a higher energy level, he really enjoys hanging out with the outdoorsy, playful and adventurous types.

* Good with dogs of all sizes
* Loves car rides, long walks, and heading out on leash
* Fully Housetrained and crate trained
* Displays some resource guarding, must be fed separately
* Inexperienced with cats

Friends with everyone he meets, Dipper is simply happy to meet you. It's hard not to fall in love with those icy blue eyes, especially when he looks at you like you hung the moon. Dipper is ready to be part of your constellation!

A 3-year-old, 26-pound pug with a big heart and a lot of love to give, Finley is all about his people and will be your most loyal companion. He loves playtime
with his favorite toy!

* A superstar on his daily walks, he walks wonderfully on a leash!
* Would prefer to be the only pet in the home, although not dog reactive
* Best suited for home living, this boys got a lot to say

At night, Finley dreams of snuggling up next to you in bed, where he can feel safe and close to his favorite person. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Finley is the guy for you! His perfect home are people who are home often. Duke & Dennis!

Dennis is a handsome Lab/Mastiff mix looking for a place he and his brother Duke can call home. At 2 years old, Dennis is starting over and has high hopes for the future. With an enthusiasm for life and an intelligence behind his eyes, Dennis is an affectionate sweetheart. After spending sometime playing with his brother, this boys ready to take up half the couch cuddling with you!

* Housetraining and Crate training unknown, however both boys keep their space at DCHS very clean
* Great on walks together but man do they move! These guys could pull a sled!
* Huge fan of head and butt scratches, doing zoomies and playing chase with Dennis

Without knowing their exact history, one thing is very clear with these two.. Duke loves his Dennis. Those two boys are brothers, besties and two peas in a pod. Suffering from some separation anxiety, and looking for stability, are you able to provide two big boys with a happily ever after?

Pinky is a handsome 3 year old Chihuahua with SO much love to give, if only he wasn't so nervous! Incredibly loving and sweet, give Pinky just a little bit of time to get through his nerves and you will find you have an adorable lap loving best friend.

* Enjoys walks, does well on leash
* Fearful of large dogs but good with small dogs

Duke & Dennis!

Duke is a handsome Lab/Chow mix looking for a place he and his brother Dennis can call home. At 2 years old, Duke is starting over and has high hopes for the future. His loving, and sweet personality shines after some good exercise. Duke has an adorable curled tail, a big ole head, but really look at those eyes! With eyes like that it's plain to see that all Duke yearns for is to feel loved and understood.

Social, energetic, and sweet, Bud loves everyone, especially the kiddos! Forgetting his manners, sometimes he does need a reminder when he is jumping up to say hello. Bud has a lot of energy & without a good outlet, he can be a bit mischievous. He loves to chew! And he can be sneaky! 👀

* Good with other dogs his size, loves to rough house

* Loves affection and will sit for pets & belly rubs
* Working on leash training, he gets a little excited and pully on adventures

Bella is a super lovable American Eskimo. Just 5 years old- Bella is 100% a lap dog. She loves attention and affection. Hoping to be spoiled, she would love a home okay with her being on the furniture as she prefers to sleep in bed with you! The sweetest girl, Miss Bella has even been caught playing with toddlers. She is amazing with littles!

* Crate trained, but would love to not have to be crated.

Maizy

This loving and snuggly girl is also a prey driven diva! If she catches sight of a rabbit, you'll know exactly what we mean. Her high prey drive has walkers moving and grooving down the trail on mornings when the critters are waking up. She would LOVE a yard to "patrol." 😆

* 7 year old, female Shepherd mix
* Housetraining/ Crate training Unknown but keeps her space very clean
* Displays dominant female behavior with other dogs, would do best in a home with other animals that can respect she is "the boss"
* THOSE EARS!!! 🥹
* Prey driven, not good with cats
* Loves the outdoors, takes treats VERY gently
* Enjoys being petted and snuggled

After a good walk or roam around the yard, Maizy is happy to just hang out with you at home. She loves a good nap just as much as any young pup and will happily keep you cozy. Ready to start her next chapter, Maizy is looking to write a better story!

Tong & his Mom, Zyla!

This duo has so much love to give! Tong and his momma arrived when this little boy was weighed just 6oz! Having spent time in foster with mom, Tong has grown increasingly attached to that safety and companionship. Zyla enjoys having her little boy around, and having someone to snuggle up is the best as the weather changes! Truth is though, its tight quarters at the shelter and momma could use just a little bit of space 😅

Hulk!

He is a 5 year old weighing about 64lbs. He is extremely sweet and very well mannered, if not sometimes a bit stubborn and independent. He is a grown up after all. Hulk's favorite things include going for walks, laying on the couch, butt scratches, and snuggles. He gets along with people of all ages. Hulk especially loves children. He will even allow them to dress him up without complaints!

* Dislikes other animals, must be only pet
* Not suited for a tie out, does great on leash!
* Not a fan of the vacuum, or the rain, big 🐔
* LOVES car rides!

Hulk is crate trained and is fine hanging out in his crate while you are at work, although its not his favorite place to get into. All this "hunk of love" wants is some love and a comfortable place to call his own.

Molly!

More than ready to spend her days loyal and in love with you, Molly is looking for an easy going life. She LOVES to snuggle and is super affectionate with her people, but not with other animals at all. Needing to be an only pet, Molly does not get along with cats or dogs and it's made finding a home difficult for our saddest shelter resident.

* 6 year old, female Lab mix
* Housetrained & Crate trained; has been kenneled up to 14 hours
* Toy shredder: loves to rip apart her stuffies
* Loves car rides, enjoys walks
* Afraid of fireworks, thunderstorms, and the vet 🫣
* Must be an only pet

Hunky Man

Hulk! This Benchwarmer arrived September 10, 2021 as a transfer from Texas. He has been looking for a permanent home for over 3 years. Hulk has a loving and loyal personality but it does not extend passed humans. He is other animal aggressive and has to be an only pet. * Fully Housetrained, will holler if he needs to go outside * Completely Crate trained, but he dislikes it very much * Loves short sprints and long walks * 5 years old, male, can be stubborn * Food motivated, loves snacks * Enjoys car rides and looking out the window * SNUGGLE BUTT (emphasis on the butt, he loves the scratchies) A dream day for this amazing boy would be hanging out with his person in their chill and quiet home all morning, heading out to the yard for a little bit and catching sniffs and then spending all afternoon snuggled up and cuddling you. Buster takes a moment to trust, and even when he does Buster is very particular about what he is and is not okay with.
