As a No-Kill shelter, Furry Friends allows the animals in our adoption program the time needed to heal wounded bodies and broken spirits before beginning their new lives with the very special people who open their homes and their hearts by adopting them. Furry Friends also believes that the answer to pet overpopulation and the suffering it causes is through sterilization, not euthanasia. Furry Friends has been a pioneer in low cost and juvenile spay/neuter since 1985. Furry Friend’s full service veterinary hospital is open to the public and is part of the overall charitable organization. Furry Friend’s veterinary clients receive top notch medical care from our three full time veterinarians and experienced and dedicated support staff. Our veterinary clinic is open Monday- Friday, 8am-6pm and on Saturday from 8am-1pm

Our dogs and cats got some extra TLC on Monday, January 20th from some visitors with the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and Palm Beach Atlantic University for their Martin Luther King Day of Service. Thank you so much for visiting and bringing the supplies to make enrichment treats and toys to keep our pups and kitties busy. We are always looking for volunteers to help us care for the animals.

Another round of applause for Manuka honey and its potent antibacterial properties 👏🍯🐝

Meet Clifford, the sweet hound dog thrown from a truck in Okeechobee. He came emaciated and had horrible road rash on feet and face.

You can see from the progress photos attached how our staff used honey to heal his road rash and how some love from staff healed his heart.

Raising the next generation of compassionate changemakers starts with moments like this! 🌟 Today, one of our volunteers and her friend hosted a bracelet sale and donating 100% of the proceeds to Furry Friends. 💕

The Pups have arrived at both PetSmart stores. They are checking out all the fun Valentine’s Day toys and treats. Stop by and say hello.

Some pups will be visiting on, Saturday, January 10th from Furry Friends Humane from 11am to 2pm at the PetSmart in Stuart on Federal Hwy and the PetSmart in West Palm Beach off of Palm Beach Lakes Blvd, plus our kitties that are at both stores everyday during store hours.

Meet Kenny

Just one month ago, this 3-year-old from Palm Beach Animal Care and Control was found unable to move—completely frozen, only able to blink.

Kenny’s story is heartbreaking: X-rays revealed a BB pellet lodged in his neck, causing severe tetanus that left his muscles completely rigid. He couldn’t walk, swallow, or even urinate on his own. Over the holidays, our dedicated team worked tirelessly around the clock to give Kenny the care he so desperately needed.

For weeks, Kenny relied on a feeding tube and endured intense treatment for a large open wound caused by the infection. But despite it all, this brave soul is a fighter. In the past week, Kenny has taken his first steps and begun eating on his own again.

He still has a long road to recovery, but we’re committed to helping him heal every step of the way. Kenny has already beaten the odds—and with your help, he can continue to thrive.

🥹 Vols at the ACC showing us some love ❤️❤️ Amidst the whirlwind of October’s chaos, we stayed strong and came out on top as the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control ’s #1 shelter partner! 🌪️ Despite the storm, we pulled more cats and rescued more dogs than any other shelter in Palm Beach County. Proud to be a constant source of hope and care! 🐾

Amazing what can happen when you share our story... after hearing about the tornado at our ranch, this family drove down from OHIO to adopt our medical senior Gracie... Gracie is blind & deaf. wow wow wow!!! The adoption was sponsored by @dollysdream

Another successful Hurricane Relief Transport completed by our tireless team ✅ Here’s the wild ride Furry Friend’s took today: 📍 Pick up dogs from North Florida Animal Rescue 📍 Pick up dogs and puppies at Taylor County ACC 📍Deliver Wellborn (Suwannee) dogs to Suncoast Animal League 📍Deliver Taylor County dogs to Suncoast Humane Society All of this is possible because of the teamwork of several shelters across the state (and of course our amazing coordinator Lacey, staff members, and volunteers) 💰 Each trip weighs heavily on our resources—costing us thousands in fuel, supplies, and care. Please consider helping anyway you can- doesn’t even have to be monetary! gas cards, pee pads, linens- a post share. All things help.

Small gesture can make a BIG difference!! Our washing machine is down, which means not enough clean linens!!! We are in need of linens… so any towels, sheets, linens you don’t need anymore-bring our way!!
