Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation

Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation We are a non-profit no kill animal shelter for cats in Riverside, CA In 1972, Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation was founded by Hettie L. Perry (1905-1996).

Hettie -- affectionately known as The Cat Lady of Pasadena -- and her very patient husband, fed, nursed, groomed and cared for cats in their private home. Hettie's life was filled with love for helping unwanted homeless cats. Hettie named Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation after a cat named "Room 8" that she had read about who was the mascot at a Los Angeles county elementary school for 16 years. The

current shelter in Jurupa Valley, California was built by Hettie in the mid-1980’s and continues her vision of taking in, caring for, and providing and finding cats of all ages a place to feel loved and safe. Our no-cage environment provides a safe and caring home for approximately 85 cats awaiting adoption, as well as lifetime care for those who cannot be placed, including senior cats who will live out their lives in a comfortable setting. Our cattery is divided into eight separate rooms and each room has an attached outdoor, enclosed patio area where the cats can get fresh air and lounge in the sun on benches and other furniture. We are open by appointment only. Adoption procedures include completing an application and, if approved, paying an adoption fee for each cat or kitten.

Meet Hazel, a sweet and cuddly adult cat who’s known for her friendly and gentle nature. Hazel has a particular fondness for belly rubs, often rolling over looking for that belly rub. Not only does she enjoy the company of humans, but Hazel also gets along well with friendly dogs, making her a wonderful addition to a home with existing pets. Hazel’s sweet temperament and sociable nature make her joy to be around. She earns for a forever home where she can share her love and affection. Adopt Hazel and experience the unconditional love and companionship she has to offer. Mommy duties are almost over and Hazel will be spayed soon and available for adoption. Hazel is about 4 years old and after her surgery next week she’ll be ready for adoption. Her adoption fee is $300. If you’d like to meet her please reach out. (Riverside, California)

Mr. Montgomery is checking in. He’s doing great and heading to a new foster this weekend where he can be paired with another singleton for socialization. Single kittens need another kitten or cat to teach them how to be good kitties. He’s 1 lb 2 ozs and got one vaccine in. Half way to his finish line. ❤️🐱

This is how Montgomery spends his waking hours. Trying to get out. He only wears the e-collar after he’s had some eyedrops. Otherwise he doesn’t wear it. His eye looks grosser than it is. I think it’s just some tissue and the underlying eye is fine, but we’ll let the vet figure it out. ❤️🐱
