Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation We are a non-profit no kill animal shelter for cats in Riverside, CA In 1972, Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation was founded by Hettie L. Perry (1905-1996).

Hettie -- affectionately known as The Cat Lady of Pasadena -- and her very patient husband, fed, nursed, groomed and cared for cats in their private home. Hettie's life was filled with love for helping unwanted homeless cats. Hettie named Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation after a cat named "Room 8" that she had read about who was the mascot at a Los Angeles county elementary school for 16 years. The

current shelter in Jurupa Valley, California was built by Hettie in the mid-1980’s and continues her vision of taking in, caring for, and providing and finding cats of all ages a place to feel loved and safe. Our no-cage environment provides a safe and caring home for approximately 85 cats awaiting adoption, as well as lifetime care for those who cannot be placed, including senior cats who will live out their lives in a comfortable setting. Our cattery is divided into eight separate rooms and each room has an attached outdoor, enclosed patio area where the cats can get fresh air and lounge in the sun on benches and other furniture. We are open by appointment only. Adoption procedures include completing an application and, if approved, paying an adoption fee for each cat or kitten.

Friends say Chris Arsenault poured everything he had into the Happy Cat Sanctuary on Long Island. “This man lived in an 8 by 10 foot bedroom with a minifridge and a microwave. Every dime he made, everything he collected went towards the animals. He was selfless. He took nothing for himself. This is just so unfair," friend Lisa Jaeger said.

**Help Miss Helenia on Her Road to Recovery**

We’re thrilled to share that Miss Helenia successfully underwent her surgery today! After a long journey to address her upper respiratory infection and eye issues, Dr. Pope gave the green light, and the surgery went smoothly without complications. She is now resting comfortably, with pain medications and antibiotics to help her heal.

In two weeks, she’ll have a recheck, and the sutures will be removed. We’ve attached her invoice, and if you feel inclined to help with her medical costs, any contribution would be greatly appreciated. Even if you're unable to donate, please share her story to help us find a loving home for this sweet little lady.

Welp, here we are again. Three kittens abandoned on our property in a soft carrier sometime early yesterday morning. While we are glad these sweet three month olds are safe, this sort of behavior is not ok. Our rescue has had four litters dumped on us in the last few months. Apparently, service isn’t up to parr at his place of lodging. Poor boy. ❤️🐱😂

This little guy was brought to us from San Jacinto ac. He had a 4 pm appointment with the needle because of the holiday and his medical condition. He doesn’t have a name yet, but he’ll need one before Friday when he goes into see the vet for his left leg that is thought to be broken from being stuck in the slats of a fence. He’s happy to be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow in foster. We’re thankful for you and your support especially during the last few days. (Yes, he is already on antibiotics and pain meds for his leg.) ❤️🐱

May the purrs of a happy but sick kitten help remind you that there is always something to be thankful for. Miss Helenia is thankful to be warm with food and meds to fix her eyes. Maybe tomorrow we will tackle the bath. Good night from Helenia and Room 8. ☺️🤐🤞🏻

More on the second challenge of yesterday. This is a little footage from where they were found. When all was said and done it did end up being 12 kittens (the three black ones were hard to see 😉). Update on Van Gogh. He’s at the vets office today being loved on by the staff. Isn’t he the sweetest? ❤️🐱

Miss Mellie is much the same. She has ringworm as well as calicci. No big deal but one more thing to work on. She’s getting more interested in what’s going on around her and starting to open her eyes although they are still pretty red and look painful. She has sight but it’s hard to say exactly what her eyes look like without stressing her out. She’s very sweet as you can see in the clip.
