Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation

Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation We are a non-profit no kill animal shelter for cats in Riverside, CA In 1972, Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation was founded by Hettie L. Perry (1905-1996).

Hettie -- affectionately known as The Cat Lady of Pasadena -- and her very patient husband, fed, nursed, groomed and cared for cats in their private home. Hettie's life was filled with love for helping unwanted homeless cats. Hettie named Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation after a cat named "Room 8" that she had read about who was the mascot at a Los Angeles county elementary school for 16 years. The

current shelter in Jurupa Valley, California was built by Hettie in the mid-1980’s and continues her vision of taking in, caring for, and providing and finding cats of all ages a place to feel loved and safe. Our no-cage environment provides a safe and caring home for approximately 85 cats awaiting adoption, as well as lifetime care for those who cannot be placed, including senior cats who will live out their lives in a comfortable setting. Our cattery is divided into eight separate rooms and each room has an attached outdoor, enclosed patio area where the cats can get fresh air and lounge in the sun on benches and other furniture. We are open by appointment only. Adoption procedures include completing an application and, if approved, paying an adoption fee for each cat or kitten.

*Lucy’s vet bill has been fully funded! Thank you to the generous donations that have covered it. We are overwhelmed by your kindness.*

If you’ve been to the cattery you’ve likely seen one of our dog mascots. This is our 10 year old pittie friend, Lucy. Technically she’s not ours. She belongs to a neighbor. She’s a sweet girl who runs to see who has brought her cookies and even shares with her other doggie friends.

Unfortunately, last week one of her ears filled with blood and burst. When we saw her we knew she needed care. Even though she’s not a cat and not ours we felt that she shouldn’t miss out on care just because her owner couldn’t afford it.

If you’d like to help us with the bill we’d certainly appreciate it. Thank you for your continued support! ❤️🐱

Welp, lookie lookie. What have we here yet again. 😕 We are working hard to get our current cats and kittens adopted and someone felt the need to fill us up with 5 more cats (2 adult males and 3 six month olds). Please help if you can. If not we get it, it’s hard out there. ❤️🐱
