Hettie -- affectionately known as The Cat Lady of Pasadena -- and her very patient husband, fed, nursed, groomed and cared for cats in their private home. Hettie's life was filled with love for helping unwanted homeless cats. Hettie named Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation after a cat named "Room 8" that she had read about who was the mascot at a Los Angeles county elementary school for 16 years. The

current shelter in Jurupa Valley, California was built by Hettie in the mid-1980’s and continues her vision of taking in, caring for, and providing and finding cats of all ages a place to feel loved and safe. Our no-cage environment provides a safe and caring home for approximately 85 cats awaiting adoption, as well as lifetime care for those who cannot be placed, including senior cats who will live out their lives in a comfortable setting. Our cattery is divided into eight separate rooms and each room has an attached outdoor, enclosed patio area where the cats can get fresh air and lounge in the sun on benches and other furniture. We are open by appointment only. Adoption procedures include completing an application and, if approved, paying an adoption fee for each cat or kitten.

This man is Merlin. He just got himself fixed yesterday. He came all the way from Livermore! He was found at a gym. The finder posted him as found and no one claimed him so after a long wait he was brought to us by our transporter, Jenn Fuller. He is two years old and as you can see he is very special, with his elf ears,
Polydactyl paws and his one eye! He is sweet too! He is neutered, fiv/felv negative, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped for $300. Send a pm if you’re interested in meeting this sweet man. 😍🐱

This dear Persian is Trifle! He is the bathroom guardian extraordinaire. You want someone to keep you company at all times?! He’s got you. 😉 (I skipped those photos. lol). Trifle won’t trifle with your affections. He’s a sweet steady guy who is just looking for a good new home. He gets along with other cats (frankly he just ignores them). He’s quiet as a mouse and loves to lay at the foot of your bed. He’s playful despite his 5 years of age. If you’d like to meet him please send a pm. He is fully vetted and ready to go for $300. Yes, his eyes get a little runny which is normal for a brachycephalic breed such as a Persian.

Mr. Oberyn is still in foster waiting for his residual issues to clear up. He’s got an uri and his skin is still healing from ringworm. He’s a sweet playful teen that loves to play and snuggle at naptime and nighttime. ❤️🐱

Welp, happy Friday. We did a thing. Gail and I went to the Van Buren campus for this medical kitten, Banjo. He’s got Manx syndrome. His little butt isn’t working quite like it should. Of course while we were there we had to go shopping for some other kids. Please consider sending something off our Amazon wishlist. These kiddos and our other kittens could really use it!

Things that happened today in rescue. We were asked to take this cute little Siamese that was found at the Yaamava Casino. When it arrived it was filthy so we gave it a bath. What emerged was not a Siamese but an outraged white and orange five week old kitten. Meet Rou aka Roulette. He gives Dawn baths (0/5 ⭐️), vaccines (0/5 ⭐️) and humans (0/5 ⭐️). No worries, he’ll be friendly in no time. 😂 Welcome to Room 8 little man even if you’re not Siamese. ❤️🐱

Miss Mellie is much the same. She has ringworm as well as calicci. No big deal but one more thing to work on. She’s getting more interested in what’s going on around her and starting to open her eyes although they are still pretty red and look painful. She has sight but it’s hard to say exactly what her eyes look like without stressing her out. She’s very sweet as you can see in the clip. Today is Gail’s birthday! In celebration of her birthday we are sharing one of our most recent kittens with medical issues in the hope of fundraising for her surgery. We’d also love for you to share a photo of any of our cats or kittens you have adopted from us! Miss Bugsy came to us from Rancho Cucamonga AC (this is a photo of her from the day we first saw her). She was set to be euthanized the day that we visited because her eyes are ulcerated and her vision is limited. Even with all of these issues she is the sweetest most loving little gal. Tomorrow, she will be having her eye surgery. We’re not sure yet if she’ll be keeping her eyes it all depends on what the dr decides. Liesel came to us on Wednesday with her 8 kittens. When we got her, it was obvious that she was sick and underweight. She’s been eating 4 cans of food a day, but she is still running a fever and having some concerning discharge. Yesterday, when her fever spiked, we decided that she needed a trip to the ER to make sure that everything was ok. Here she is waiting her turn so sweetly and caring for her kiddos like a champ.
