Hello again, Friends! 👋 Happy Saturday!

Due to the heavy winter weather we’re experiencing today and many last-minute sign-up removals, we’ve made the decision to keep Carly off the roads and safe at home. We will be extending our nail trim sign-ups this Wednesday, February 19th for any customers who would like to reschedule.

A little flashback Friday to this past Tuesday night’s group class with our in-house trainer, Faith Kahovec. • This week’s group training class was focused on building *CONFIDENCE*! A confident dog is a calm dog, a happy dog, a settled dog, a fun dog…should we go on? Introducing your dog to different experiences, noises, terrains and tasks allows them to not only become more secure in their abilities and build their trust in you. It also allows them to live life with YOU! Our pups and their pawrents got to spend an hour at the park, working through different challenges while building their bond with each other- being coached and cheered on by our favorite red headed trainer the whole way through. Seeing the look of joy on an owner’s face when their dog tries something new or conquers a task is simply the best. Seeing the confidence grow in their dog after they try something new- even better! Working through a puppy’s fear to jump in the car! Where we started: Beau was avoidant and unwilling to jump in or place his paws in the car on his own. How we worked through it: We moved to the back hatch to create more room for him. I picked Beau up to show him the criteria we are looking for, I made myself and the game FUN! He jumps out and gets a treat and then decided to make the jump all on his own back into the car! FUN + clear criteria = a puppy’s best friend! How we ended: Beau was able to easily jump into the car through the side door and offered the behavior many times more readily. 🤗🐾 Interested in Training? •FOCUS• Sunshine has been working hard with her human to learn how to focus around any, and all distractions. She is preparing for a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test and needs to successfully pass other dogs calmly and relaxed. Skylar proved today just how much work they have put in the last week to successfully pass an excitable dog in close quarters, as well as being in a busy park environment! Next up: A field trip to Lowe’s to proof her focus around novel and unique noises, distractions, and people. What are you working on with your dog this week?!
