Let’s talk about our longest residents, the good, the quirky, and the mystery of why they’re still waiting for their forever homes.
🐾 Bob
Bob has been with us 353 days and is about to celebrate his third birthday without a family. He’s a big, beautiful guy (with the heart of a Chihuahua!) who thrives as an only pet. Bob struggles with separation anxiety, but thanks to his amazing foster, he’s doing well. He loves couch time, short daily walks, and a nice yard to lounge in. He’s harness trained, potty trained on a schedule, and just waiting for the right home to settle into.
🐾 Kings of Leon
This big, lovable brute has been with us 173 days (and even longer in another rescue before). At 4 years old, he’s spent most of his young life stuck in a kennel, so his energy at first makes perfect sense. He needs a structured home with someone who can give him training and boundaries, but in return, you’ll get a loyal and loving dog. He’s dog-friendly, best with older kids, and would thrive in a home with space to romp. Not an apartment pup, he’s made for adventure.
🐾 Bess
Bess has been waiting 114 days, and honestly… we can’t figure out why. She’s a 4 year old Standard Poodle, yes, a real Poodle in rescue! She’s allergy-friendly, loving, wiggly, and good with respectful kids and submissive dogs. She’s active, happiest hiking or going on long walks, but also a big snuggler. She’s potty trained if kept on a good schedule, harness trained, and really just an all-around wonderful girl. Truly, why is she still here?!
🐾 Cash
Cash is our sweet little senior at 9 years old and has been waiting almost 100 days. Small dogs usually fly out of here, but Cash needs a very particular match. He bonds deeply with women and is wary of men, it takes weeks for him to warm up to them and he must have a woman in home to feel comfortable. No kids for this guy, but he’s good with cats and dogs. Once he trusts you, he LOVES to cuddle and will be your loyal shadow. He’s smart, harness trained, and potty trained if kept on a good schedule.
Each of these dogs has been overlooked for one reason or another, but we know their perfect people are out there. Could that be you?
If you’re interested in adopting any of them, please visit animalrescueproject.org to fill out an application. You can also find them on Petfinder. And if you can’t adopt, please share to help them find the homes they deserve.
