Happy $5 Friday!! 🐶

It's been a busy holiday season at our rescue, and while we have been celebrating Christmas with our dogs and cats, we have also been handling a handful of medical cases that we need some monetary assistance with! One of our sweet new members of the rescue, a yorkie, had to make a visit to the emergency vet for a kidney infection, and one of our long term residents, Ink, had a corneal abrasion that was removed and has been monitored by a vet for the past few weeks! This Friday we are searching for donations from our community in order to help pay for the medical care for both of these animals, along with the others who have already needed medical attention, or might need special care in the future!

Meet the Charlie Brown Pups! Snoopy, Schroeder, and Woodstock are all heeler mix puppies. They currently are 11 weeks old and are all males. They are sweethearts and love attention from people! Because they are heeler mix puppies, they would do best in homes that understand the energy and training that comes with the heeler breed.

Whimsical “Whimzee” is a beagle, husky, terrier mix (dna tested). He is approximately 1 ½ years old. He would make an excellent companion for an energetic family. It takes him a little while to warm up to adult males, but once he does, he is ready to play. Whimzee has been in a foster home since he was rescued and brought to Animal Rescue Project with his littermates as a young pup. He currently lives with 3 other dogs: a female golden retriever, female jack russell/coonhound mix, female shihtzu mix, guinea pig, any love bird. He has not interacted with the bird or the guinea pig but is not aggressive at all towards them. Whimzee loves to play, especially with Rylee the golden. He is working on improving his behaviors of jumping and assertiveness. He does enjoy belly rubs and pets, knows sit, come, and basic commands. He has been housetrained since he first went into foster care, following the lead of the other dogs and using the doggie door. Whimzee currently weighs approximately 35 pounds and stands about 24 inches tall. a fence is a must. The foster mom recommends an individual or family (older children) that is/are willing to spend quality time walking and playing with him. He will need consistent training. As with any rescue dog, patience is key. Whimzee is very observant, inquisitive, and intelligent.

Meet Rainbow! This sweet 10 year old kitty is available for adoption through Animal Rescue Project in Kalamazoo, MI and is hoping that she can find a forever home where she can retire and relax with her favorite people! She would prefer to be in a home where she is the only pet, since she isn't a fan of other cats or dogs. She is a typical Siamese with a mix of sweetness and sass, since she knows what she likes most! She would be best with children who are 12 and older in her new forever home. Raffle tickets are $5 a ticket or $20 for 6 tickets and we will be drawing for each basket on December 21st at 2pm and will have cookies and refreshments!
