As devoted pet owners, we all recognize the risks that extreme cold poses to our beloved animals. Despite our best intentions, it's possible to inadvertently put our pets at risk. To help prevent this, we're offering some easy-to-follow tips to keep your pets safe and warm.
Often, injuries in cold weather result from simple misunderstandings or lapses in judgment, such as letting pets remain outdoors too long or underestimating the onset of frostbite.
By remaining vigilant and informed, you can protect your pets from the harsh elements and ensure they remain cozy and secure throughout the cold season.

🐾💖 As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we at the Kalamazoo Humane Society want to take a moment to recognize everyone who has joined us in showing support for those affected by breast cancer – people and pets alike.
Did you know that breast cancer can also affect animals, particularly female pets that aren’t spayed? In fact, approximately 50% of breast tumors in dogs and 90% in cats are malignant, making awareness and regular check-ups so important for our furry friends. Early detection and preventative care, like spaying at a young age, can significantly reduce the risk.
Throughout October, your support and donations have strengthened our ability to educate and care for pets in need, while also helping us stand united with the many individuals and families impacted by breast cancer in our community.
💗 It’s not too late to make a difference! Your donations fund our ongoing efforts, ensuring we can continue providing critical support and healthcare services for all animals and their families. Let’s keep the momentum going, sharing hope and compassion year-round.
