My little yard helpers are 9 weeks tomorrow 👩‍🌾

I’m soaking up every last second with Tupe’s sweet little mini me. How perfect that she had one copy of her and one copy of Rep 😂 everyday gets a little sweeter and a lot more messy and chaotic, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

My little boy is already so smart and is learning some fun tricks. I’m so excited to watch him grow up.

The kiddos went to the vet for their second round of shots yesterday and big girl weighs 15.92lbs and mister man weighs 15.78lbs (my vet is convinced he’s carrying his weight in his fat head and meaty thighs).

7 weeks 💕

The puppies completed their Volhard Puppy Aptitude test and each pup did amazing. Both are going to make fantastic dogs. Although I had already known where each puppy was going, it was still fun to test them anyway. Normally this is how I would choose puppies for their owners, but Mother Nature had other plans this time and that’s okay too 😜

The “Lucky Litter” is 6 weeks old!

My, how time has just flown 🥺

The puppies ventured to our amazing vet Family Friends Veterinary Hospital and received their first set of shots, health certificates, and microchips! Both puppies are healthy and they were a huge hit amongst the staff.

They got to experience the wonders of the outdoors too 🌾

I will get to enjoy them for a little longer than the normal 8 weeks. Little girl’s family is getting married and will be on their honeymoon and is stuck with me for a bit… and little boy is stuck here forever. 💚

SPRING TIME IS COMING ☀️

Which means, it’s “puppy season”.

There’s about to be breedings and litters everywhere you look.

So please if you listen to any advice, listen to the following…

PLEASE GET YOUR DOGS FROM HEALTH TESTED PARENTS.

I am already seeing SO MANY “backyard breedings” with unhealth tested dogs. Vet checked IS NOT THE SAME as health tested. Health testing includes genetic testing, hips, elbows, eyes, cardiac (each breed will vary for required testing). ALWAYS verify the parents' health testing on OFA.org.

Buying a puppy is the cheapest part of your journey, get a breeding that is providing the healthiest pups available. And truly breeding to “better the breed” and not just to “make money”. Supporting a backyard breeders contributes to pet overpopulation.
