Entries close March 13, 2024 for our rally and obedience trials on March 29, 30 and 31st. Two concurrent rally trials on March 29th. Judges are Joni Monnich and Dianne Allen. Two concurrent obedience trials on Saturday and Sunday, March 30 & 31. Judges are Tamara Woodrow and Dianne Allen. We are offering the Preferred classes. The seminar is hosted by the Kalamazoo Kennel Club and will be held at our building at 1249 West D Ave, Kalamazoo, MI. This is the first in a series of seminars that Marion presents. It will help you build a solid training foundation and relationship with your dog. Marion is an accomplished dog trainer having achieved the OTCH title on 7 Keeshonds and 6 Border Collies.
There are still a few working spots available and we have unlimited auditing spots. Auditors may bring dogs as long as they are quiet in their crates.

Update on the General meeting and classes for this week, January 15-19, 2024.

The general meeting and ALL scheduled classes (conformation, agility, scentwork, rally and obedience) are canceled this week due to weather and road conditions. We want everyone to stay warm and safe.

We will see all of you next week at class, which will be the first week.

This was supposed to go to my FB page some how it posted to the KKC page. Anyway I still think it is a good post so I am leaving it here.

To all my dog training friends and students, hoping you add this one component to your training.

“What can I can do to get better as a trainer and handler?”
We were on a zoom call and that was the most popular question,,,
It has many valid answers and we asked the group what they thought would help.
They had lots of good ideas including improving:
Enthusiasm, Consistency, Proficiency, and the list went on.

All are important aspects for sure, but what if you added a single component to any of those, whether you’re a novice or an accomplished handler, and it made you better?

Just a reminder that entries for our July 28 rally trials and our July 29 and 30th obedience trials close on July 19th. Premium lists are available on the AKC Event Search page and the Kalamazoo Kennel Club website.

We added the preferred classes to the obedience trials and the rally choice class to these trials.
