NO KILL RESCUE
KAR animals are kept in our care from intake until adoption. For the majority of our animals that time is spent within one home, where the animal can get accustomed to family life. HOUSING
The majority of KAR animals are placed with foster families. These families are KAR volunteers who generously open their homes to animals in need. The animals are provided with a caring, nurturing

atmosphere to facilitate their well-being. While in foster care, we gain an understanding of the animal's needs and their personality traits. Foster homes work with Adoption Counselors to match the animals with suitable permanent families. WEBSITE

Brody Update!
Someone is starting to feel better! 😍

His blood work and urinalysis all came back good so the reason for his malnourished state is that he was literally just starving.
Which happens quite often to cats that are abandoned outside to fend for themselves.
He's finally feeling well enough to eat and keep himself hydrated now though. Although he will only eat wet food, but who could blame him after all he's been through.

His infections are starting to subside due to all the medicines he's on and before we all know it he's going to be looking like an all new cat!

Thank you to everyone for the donations that helped us get him on the mend.
He is the sweetest boy and is feeling very grateful today to be alive 🥹

Meet Bear! A sweet loving goofy Great Dane puppy!

He is doing great in his foster home learning potty training and crate training. He lives with 3 other dogs and loves to run and play with them. He loves to snuggle up next to you on the couch. Bear could tell you about his terrible past, but he prefers to focus on the moment. He is thriving and learning and doing great! He was not provided adequate nutrition growing up and was very skinny before coming to the rescue so he is very excited around food. He is doing well using a slow feeder bowl during meals. He needs a few extra minutes to meet new people and trust they are ok, but has shown that he can quickly warm up to you and become your little shadow!

Bear would love a home with an experienced dog owner. A patient and active person or family with some extra time for training and walks. He would love another confident and playful dog to bond with. He needs a little extra time to learn to trust some one new.

Bear is only 4 months old but is already 54lbs so his forever home should have experience with giant breeds.

He's fixed, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and ready to go home.

We're already anticipating an increase of intakes of *literal frozen cats* because it happens every year.

Found at Hope Lutheran Church on 12th Street in Plainwell. Neutered.
He was found nearly frozen to death, he's severely emaciated, dehydrated, and sickly with an infected abscess on his face.

We're back with another adorable picture of one of the chi-pits 😍 (This is Brownie-Male)
The three of them will be getting fixed soon and then will be up for adoption.

Astro is an 8 month old golden lab/german shepherd mix (wearing the Michigan jersey.) He is a big teddy bear and likes to think he can fit perfectly in your lap. Astro would be best in a home with older kids and a fenced in yard as he has more energy than a toddler who just got fed candy for dinner at grandmas house 🥴 He will need someone that is willing to play lots of fetch with lots of room to run 🎾 We are still working on not pulling when walking, but he is crate trained. He is great with other dogs but he's pretty high energy so he might be too much for a cat to handle. He will be available soon for adoption, so keep an eye out!
