Merry Christmas & A Very Happy New Year! We're so grateful & excited to receive a wonderful grant from the Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF) for $10,000!!! It will really help with medications, vet bills & feed. So blessed to have our "Kids" they deserve a happy life.🥰 Festus (our oldest) wanted to play Santa this year.

Merry Christmas to all & a big thank you to Shannon Bolin, Janice Bailey & Betty Colston for their wonderful donations. Betty is always there to help, from helping me try to figure out the computer to doing our monthly reports. A true gem! Here's Dreamer & Winnie waiting for Santa.

The holidays are a special time when we count our blessings and connect with those who mean the most -- a time to tell you how grateful we are for your support and to share the impact your donations have had this past year.

In 2024 we have granted almost $600,000 to animal welfare organizations across the country, making it possible for them to directly help thousands of animals and the people who love them. Our reach goes far beyond our beloved 4-legged companions, such as dogs, cats and horses, encompassing care and rehabilitation of wildlife, marine mammals, chimpanzees saved from laboratory testing and many more. The emergency funding we provide during the ever-increasing natural disasters, such as wildfires and hurricanes, enables our grantees to spring into action and provide assistance to the affected animals and their families.

As you can see, when you support DDAF, your impact is far-reaching. If you haven't made your 2024 donation yet, or wish to make an additional year-end tax-deductible contribution, we would be most grateful. Don't know what to get your loved ones? A donation to DDAF in their honor makes a great, meaningful gift! Simply select "Dedicate this donation" on DDAF's Donation Page and enter the recipient's name and email address. We will be sure to notify them of your thoughtful gift.

Like Doris, we consider our supporters our friends and family. You are part of her legacy to make this a better world for the animals, and we couldn't carry on the important work she started without you. So, as another year comes to a close, we thank you with all our hearts on behalf of the precious animals and wish you a joyous holiday season and a blessed, peaceful New Year.

Had a great time meeting Susan & Robert... all the way from Alberta, Canada! They came for a tour to visit Donkeys😁Taking time to do their research on maybe getting a couple & wanted to do a meet & greet of our fabulous "Kids". Donkeys make great pets. I tell people they're a cross between a dog & a 3yr old kid, lots of fun but watch your keys if you put them in your back pocket.
Here's Homer thanking them for the donation. Have a safe trip & keep us posted🫏

Our sweet sweet Belgian Gideon went to be with his lifetime girl Charlotte. He was one of the lucky ones to live a long (30 yrs) healthy charmed life. We had him 29 yrs. & was the last of our original "Kids". Like a big dog he would follow us around & loved visitors. Love this picture of Gideon, Charlotte & Ralph going down the road for dinner. Also a great picture of Gideon & Andy (our Clydesdale) having fun in the round pen many years ago. Ralph said it was an honor & a privilege to care for him all these years.
Miss you Son❤️

A huge incredible blessing came our way!!! Thank you to
Best Friends Animal Society & Jen Reid, Horse Haven Manager
for 500 bales delivered to us. This hay will feed our "Kids" for
half the year!!! You have no idea how much we appreciate it. Our expenses are largely paid for by our retirements, so this is AWESOME!!! We don't realize just how small Dreamer is...until this showed up.😮

Interesting how things work out. 20 some yrs ago our paths crossed working for Best Friends. Fast forward...Marsha rescued 2 fabulous Jersey cows, Fiona & Tag (Along) from slaughter. She contemplated rehoming them & along came us, always wanted Jerseys. Come to find out Cows know what's going on!!! About a wk before coming to us they knew their Mom Marsha was very upset, Fiona started acting up & Tag was getting depressed. We had been talking for 2 months about this & came to the conclusion they DID NOT want to leave, neither did their Mom so...the "Kids" are still with their Mom Marsh & all is right in their world. Best of all we are now friends & she came to visit (without the cows) but with Teddy her faithful companion 🐾🥰

Running late on posts, we've been so busy at the Ranch the last couple of months. Had some fun visitors, sisters Kim & Mary Beth from NV, seen here with Joie. Kim had contacted us back in Feb. looking for a sanctuary for her mustang & decided to come on a road trip. Still looking for the perfect fit for her girl, keep us posted.😃

From our grantees at Perseverance Ranch Equine Rescue Sanctuary

Joie came to us about 5yrs ago when his owner could no longer care for him. He's about 27 with only 3 teeth. Many years ago he was fed straight alfalfa & put on so much weight his crest (neck & mane) fell over. He was quite a handful at first & he's come a long way, now he's Mr Meet & Greet. We had a fun visit with Gabrialla & Francisco from Houston, and maybe someday will have their own Donkey Rescue🥰
