We are located just south of Chicago in Limestone, IL. I have been showing and breeding Border Terriers for 25 years. Our goals at Meadowlake are to produce terriers that consistently demonstrate superior working ability, excellent conformation with emphasis on movement and temperament, and that will succeed equally well in show ring, doing agility or field work, or simply just as a healthy loving
companion. All of our breedings are meticulously planned with concern for maintaining the integrity of our unique breed as our first priority. Puppies whelped at Meadowlake are raised in our home, with great attention given to proper socialization and training. Given this type of solid foundation, we believe that our terriers will excel in many activities, but most importantly, will be loving, loyal companions to those who are fortunate enough to be owned by them! All of our terriers are proven in the field and the show ring and must have the disposition and temperament that is demanded by us before they are bred. After we make the careful decision to breed, we then determine the match most desirable to produce the terrier we feel fits our high standard of achievement. We have to our credit numerous conformation championships and have won consistently at the BTCA National Specialty, taking Best In Sweepstakes 3 times to retire the Todfield Trophy. We have many other pretigious wins, including Best Of Breed at Westminster Kennel Club and Best Of Breed and Best Bred By Exhibitor at the Eukanuaba Classic 3 times with our homebred Borders. Not only do all of our Border Terriers have to be shown to their AKC Championship, we feel they must be better than the average Border Terrier and must excel in all fields, including temperament, conformation, movement and most of all they must be mentally and physically sound. We have also produced several agility champions in all clubs, along with many versatility titles. We aren't a kennel, our dogs simply live with us together in harmony along with my Border Collie, 2 Papillons and our Mini Wire Dachshund, and a couple of geriatric Jack Russells! Showing and Breeding Borders is simply my passion. Plan on visiting us if you are in the vicinity -- we love the company and so do the terriers! Pedigrees and pictures are all available on request. Puppies are sometimes available, but reservations are suggested. Now, if you are ready to see some of best Border Terriers in the Midwest, please continue with our Stud Dogs and then on to some of our Bi***es! If you love Borders or simply have children who like to read about dogs, please don't forget to visit "Austin's First Puppy". My first children's book about a Border Terrier.
