Our assistants/techs would like to thank you all for your kind words and support this week.❤🐾
🐾 Did you know? Heartworm disease in pets is spread by mosquitoes! When an infected mosquito bites your furry friend, it can transmit heartworm larvae into their bloodstream, leading to serious health issues if left untreated. Protect your pets with regular heartworm prevention and keep them safe all year round! ❤️ #HeartwormAwareness #PetHealth #VeterinaryCare #HealthyPets
Fill your heart up with joy like we did at our annual "Sock Exchange.." #vcacountywest

Has your cat been itching more often? Atopic dermatitis (atopy) is a common cause of skin problems in cats. When a cat with allergies encounters an environmental protein to which it is allergic, it sets off a reaction leading to skin problems. If you suspect your cat has a new skin problem, call your veterinarian to schedule a visit 🐾

In preparation for this year's Vet Tech Week, we wanted to share a little snippet of our games from last year. We hosted our very own Vet Tech Olympics! Our staff split into teams to compete in multiple relays and events.
A few of the skills required to win were:
1. "Pill the fractious cat" where teams had to assemble an E-collar (aka cone of shame), apply it to a member of the team, and then catch candy "pills" in their mouth
2. "Bozo Buckets" where teams had to toss ear cones into metal buckets to earn top points
3. "Catch the urine sample" where one coned team member had to squirt "urine" into another member's receptacle
4. "Emesis Whirl" where team members had to spin one member on a stool before sending them to glove up and count 10 toxic raisins out of the "vomit"
The winners of our 2021 Vet Tech Olympics were Dr. McClaughry, Patti (CSR), & Alexa ( vet assistant).
We all had a blast! Here's a part of our Emesis Whirl game. Hope you enjoy watching!
