Happy Memorial Day, Everyone!

Larkspur is one of the easiest seeds to start in the fall. I just scattered the seeds in a bed, watered well, then covered with frost cloth until spring.

I have so many and yet no words to explain what an amazing place is.

I was totally blown away. Peonies as far as the eye could see, in every direction. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

It was just hours of me going: “Ooooooh look at that one. Look at That one! Look at that One! I want go see that one. This one smells pretty! Smell this one!” Etc. etc. etc. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I was doing happy dances in the fields and making a (long) list to purchase roots in the fall. And I picked some stunners. Some catch your eye from 20 rows away types. I. Can. Not. Wait.

A huge Thank You to the Rotary Club of Maryville, Mo. for putting together this amazing day.

I am excited to announce that I have accepted a full-time position outside of the farm. In order to adjust to this new season in my life, I am making some changes to how you can get my flowers. And yes, I will still have flowers.

🌸 I will not be attending the Lenexa Farmers Market this year. (This was a very tough decision because I loved it there).
🌸 I can still fulfill bouquet and stem requests through Instagram, Facebook, & through my website at www.spanishhousefarm.com
🌸 I will need at least 24 hours of lead time to fulfill your orders.
🌸 All orders will be invoiced through Square. And I will need your email address to send it.
🌸 All orders will need to be picked up on the farm from the front patio cooler.
🌸 I will be available for pop-ups during the weekend, as flowers are available.

I am so very grateful to all of your support. I expect that next year will look different as I get my legs under me and figure out how all of these pieces will fit together.

Peonies are just starting to bud up. I am considering offering a Peony Subscription this year. So post below if that’s something you’re interested in seeing!

I only bought one tuber of this N-Force Dahlia this year, but wow is she a stunner. 🤩

These zinnias are winning my heart again this year. I want to not love them because the petals are dry & thin, the stems are rough, and they hate the cooler.

But what they lack in lushness, they make up for in generosity. This bed has been pumping out blooms for weeks and has been my favorite place in the garden.

After these were direct seeded, they had two early weedings , and lots of straw mulch. And I haven’t weeded it since. Pure happiness.

Hercules Dahlia is arriving on the scene! This plant has some bulk and height, so the name makes sense.

You are welcome to drop them by the farm this weekend and we’ll put them to work enriching the soil and keeping weeds at bay. If you want us to pick them up from the end of your driveway, send us a message and let us know. (They’ve got to be bagged. I can’t rake them for you.) A little dose of Wednesday cuteness for you. Belle the Bunny fully endorses homegrown carrots as a great ‘anytime snack.’ Carrots store beautifully in the refrigerator. These are many weeks old from our last harvest. So the next time you see carrots at the market, pick up some extra, pop them in the crisper in a baggie with a bit of water and you’ll be good to go!
