The team had a fantastic time in Oklahoma over the weekend! Thank you to Lazy E Ranch for taking the time to show our interns around and open them up to some new opportunities! I am SO excited to see these young ladies do some amazing things in our industry! We got to watch the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association horse show as well as Lance Graves’ barrel race. Thank you to Mystic Ice Cryotherapy for also taking the time to show our girls something new and we look forward to working with you guys in the future! And if you’re ever down in the OKC area the girls and I highly recommend you check out an OKC Improv show! We will definitely be taking another trip down soon! Look for these girls at the American Royal Open show where Rockin G will be competing for the first time!

“WOULD MY HORSE BENEFIT FROM RESPIRATORY THERAPY?”

The answer is YES! First your horse is going to be in one of the two following categories:

🔶 Pasture horses - coughing and mild irritation from seasonal allergies. (We see this a lot during the Midwest summers)

🔶 Stall horses - exposure to dust which is the #1 cause of irritation.

Then on top of that, your horse will have further needs when you consider his work level:

🔷 Weekend warrior - easily winded from lack of regular exercise.

🔷 Competition/Ridden regularly - greater need for oxygen exchange. Many riders may be shocked to hear that studies show up to 80% of competition horses have inflammatory airway disease (IAD), which has a direct impact on performance in any discipline.

When respiratory health is compromised, both the performance level and overall health of the horse is compromised. Nebulization helps unplug those airways, and when you unplug them you open up more of the lung that’s available to the horse so they get more oxygen profusion and you can see the cascade effect it has. Kansas City!!! The American Royal Livestock Show is next month. This is a free admission event! Come watch our next generation show they’re cows, lambs, and pigs that they’ve worked so hard with! Bring the kids! There will be shopping, food, and lots of action! Rockin G Equine is a huge supporter of our Kansas City American Royal and will be stopping by to watch the show.

Monday the interns got to play with some ponies! They started with some class time taking Summer Terry’s Facia Gun course, then they got to take what they learned right out to the barn to work on some project horses.

Getting your horse to stretch their neck isn't always easy.

Something as simple as a carrot can be used as an incentive for the horse to stretch it's neck. This will result in a positive and relaxing stretch from the horse without them even knowing.

In this picture, the therapist is testing the horses range of motion in it's neck by seeing how far back they will willingly follow the carrot. The farther back they stretch, the greater the range of motion. This is also a good way to test fluidity in the neck too!

There are so many benefits to routine stretching. Even just one stretch session will allow the horse to work muscles that are not always used when just being ridden. When a horse stretches they are improving their range of motion and circulation to those areas. Even the weekend warriors will perform with stronger ability and more fluidity!

We had such a wonderful weekend at Eagle Ranch in Collins, MO! We met some wonderful people and worked on some exceptional horses. Rockin G highly recommends this place for your next retreat! The lovely owners of Eagle Ranch were so welcoming and a joy to work with. We can’t wait to go back in August for the AHCA event!

I struggled for the longest time with self confidence. It stood in my way of achieving my dreams for far too long. 2020 was the year to say “NO MORE”. I will not be counted out! Keep fighting for your dreams!

None of us actually know what we’re doing.

I chatted with a today about something super exciting I’m planning, but admitted to her I have no idea what I’m actually doing.

She’s running a well known brand empire and admitted to me, she doesn’t always know either.

I’ve thought about it all day.

None of us actually know what we’re doing.

I can’t even do basic math without a calculator (no joke) yet I’m managing to run a business.

Hell I can’t even spell the word entrepreneur without sounding it out.

None of us actually know what we’re doing.

When I worked the FLC merch booth at the NFR I would lean under the table with my phone calculator trying to figure change while my armpits sweat and I prayed the customer didn’t realize I can’t actually count.

I discovered last week months worth of emails have been going straight to people’s spam because I had some setting wrong.

I filed my sales taxes wrong the first three times and I pray daily the government doesn’t arrest me for simply being an idiot.

I tell you all of this to say, we’re all just winging it. We’re all learning as we go. None of us actually know what we’re doing.

All those people who look like they have it all together don’t actually have it all together.

Stop letting the fear of what you don’t know hold you back from going after what you want.

All the people you silently admire and secretly wish you could be like are learning as they go. They didn’t have it all figured out from the beginning. They made big ol’ messy mistakes and screwed up their taxes and embarrassed themselves over and over.

None of us actually know what we’re doing.

So you might as well join the club...

Is your horse experiencing discomfort in their joints or soft tissues? Then cold laser therapy is exactly what they need!
