Buddy is starting his grow out after being shaved short for the summer. Today we gave him a keratin treatment bath to help keep those growing hairs strong, and a complete comb through to eliminate any tangled before they become matting. Finish off with cleaning ears, shaving pads and a nail clip with file and he will be all done!

Now Accepting new doodle and double coated clients to book now for August! Large dogs encouraged! One groomer has highly requested husky, collie and sheltie clients to apply. We are a specialty salon that only grooms doodles/poodle mixes, select dogs that can be groomed like doodles (Portuguese water dogs, wheaten, barbet, poodles, etc), any shedding double or smooth coated dogs (including sheepdogs!), and a handful of other breeds that are siblings to our specialty clients.

Looking good in the Lounge today. Almost ready for day lounging! Next we will be firing up the indoor water fountain, installing the stereo speakers and cameras, and replacing some ceiling tiles around the sky lights to complete phase #1. Phase #2 will see a new vinyl floor in the downstairs grooming station and completion of the outside yard!
Bark-A-Loungers pay $35/day for monitored day care and potty time.

Clients of The Flying Hair!!
So I have a question for you. We recently moved to a different software provider due to some issues with Square. Firstly, Square has had a major update and we aren’t seeing those issues any longer (like deleting repeating appointments and notes), plus they have a nice client interface where you can see your appointments, payments, etc. Secondly, the new software on the latest update deleted a BUNCH of repeating appointments and there is no client interface so we have to send you appointment info. However, they are working on creating one but there is no timeline for that. They also have new report cards that we can send for each appointment that Square doesn’t have.
So, which do you like better?
SQUARE or GROOMORE?

You may notice some changes and please excuse our mess.
First three day stay runs are up! These are the smallest ones. One medium and five large to go! The side yard and deck are being built. The front beds have all been cedar mulched and look fabulous. Later this summer the stone patio and stairs will be replaced with Hebron Pink marble from Jerusalem Stone. I am working on solidifying and announcing a couple new hires that have passed the vibe/skill check as well to help with easier scheduling for your doggies! As always, doing everything for your bougie boofers!

The Lazy Dog Lounge inside The Flying Hair will be opening later this month. We will offer supervised indoor/outdoor day boarding in a relaxing environment.
Stone floor is being sealed, carpet being replaced with linoleum, fountain and speaker system being tested, ceiling fans being replaced, runs being ordered and privacy fence being built! We can only take 15 day stayers per day so if you are interested please msg 816-945-9729.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to let you know that dogs have been having extra heavy shedding this year. So much so that even after we do our regular ShedLess Treatment (actually even MORE than regular), they are still shedding out more a couple days after they go home. We can't brush on dogs more then their skin will allow in one sitting so I'm adding a Brush Out option for dogs who just had a ShedLess Treatment to be booked by phone or text within 7 days of the original service. This will be $20.
I was hesitant to add this because I don't want owners thinking we do a poor job on the first service just to get you back in for a second. However, I am getting cameras installed soon so we can prove our integrity if it is ever questioned.
We pride ourselves in giving you the best service for your money and doing what is best for your dog.
I personally suggest getting an initial deshedding bath and then a month later getting a second complete deshedding bath. Hair doesn't all come out at once and stimulation of the follicles will cause hair that isn't loose yet to start the process of letting go. This will appear as though we didn't do the best job when in fact, that hair wasn't ready to come out before. Some dogs need more than one treatment while other can go 8+ weeks before any shedding starts again.
