I’ve been avoiding making this post for a month now, it’s heartbreaking but it’s the right thing to do.
We are going to be making the Rattery private again for a little while. With Jo in school and the high demand for litters it has become too much for me to do on my own. Our last few litters had bad outcomes and it was the final straw for me.
We REALLY appreciate everyone who has supported us over the years! We honestly didn’t expect to grow SO fast and it overwhelmed us. We want to raise our rats as ethically as possible: open air cages, fresh fruits & veggies, and lots of enrichment. Unfortunately, especially with the current economy, that is very expensive. And with the extra expense of school it became too much, we’re struggling to feed the rest of our family as well right now.
I’m going to take this time to work on my lines, work on my policies, and the business as a whole. The small passion project I started really took off! And as grateful as we are for it, it was faster than we were prepared for.
I currently have a lot of inquiries for rats and there are some other wonderful ratteries in the area I’d be happy to direct you to.

We DO plan to become public again in the future, I’m hoping by late 2025, early 2026.
The pages will stay open so that anyone that has adopted from us can still reach us, we WILL always still take rats back as well as help with anything we can. I would like to still post updates of litters we’re working on, even if they’re not available for adoption quite yet.

I want to take this time to really flesh out the business more and even expand some of our current projects. I’m so sorry for how dissapointing this will be to folks that have been eagerly awaiting more litters. Just know we are doing it for the best interests of our rats, we want them to recieve the best care that they can and currently I’m not able to provide that.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out and just know we plan to come back better than before in the upcoming year. As always, thank you for your support, and thank you for loving my rats as much as I do.

We really appreciate everyone’s patience with how slow we’ve been responding to messages!!

✨Hello Friends!✨
I have some sad updates.
Only 2 of our rats ended up pregnant and neither litter was very large and unfortunately they didn’t make it. This is a first for us. The moms were both taken to the vet and we were told they are healthy.
We’re going to pair some rats again and hope for a few litters before the end of the year.
It’s definitely been a lot harder handling the rattery by myself and I really appreciate everyone’s patience. It’s been a really big adjustment for us having Jo back in school at nights.

That being said, I do have a litter that I bred to work on one of our lines. I will be putting some of them up for adoption, I’ll post any that will be available in the next few weeks.
In the meantime, if you wanted recommendations for other ratteries I do have many in the area who I’m happy to refer you to!

Hello everyone! These two sweet boys have already found a home, but their siblings have not! This is our most recent litter and I’ll be posting the rest of them ✨THIS Sunday, 08/04 @ Noon CST!✨

After that I’ll be posting our older (4-13 months) rats that are also looking for homes. If there is a specific sex/age you’re looking for send us a message and we’ll add you to the list! It’s not a waitlist necessarily, we’ll just notify you first before posting publicly. We’ll post an exact date when we’re planning on dropping the pictures. Stay tuned! 💕

✨Hello everyone!✨
I’m so sorry for the radio silence, we have some important announcements to make!

Jo is going back to school at night during the week, which is awesome! But it means we’ll have to make some big changes, we were thinking of possibly closing the rattery while they’re in school. However, after careful consideration we’ve decided to stay open!

✨These are the changes we’ll be making✨:

👉The rattery will only be available Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I will still do my best to keep up with messages during the week but I won’t be available for anything else since I have to take care of all of the animals on my own.
👉We are thinning out the rats we currently have. During the next few weeks I will be posting rats available for adoption. Some are as young as 8 weeks up to a year old. Some are retired breeders while others I never bred. I have a few who were returned for no faults of their own as well as some saved that were never claimed.
👉We still have our current litter who will be available starting on July 27th, if you’re already on the waitlist we’ll be reaching out in the next week or so with pictures!
👉I don’t plan on slowing down our breeding program, on the contrary I will actually be streamlining it so we will have rats available more often. However, we’ll be having less of them at a time. So getting on our waitlist will be more important than ever!
👉If you’ve sent a message in the last few weeks, I’ll be getting back to you ASAP! We’ve had a lot of sickness and lost power a few times, so unfortunately the customer facing side has been on the back burner.

The rattery lost power! It’s been out for over 12 hours.
Luckily we have a generator but we couldn’t save the fridge holding all of our rat’s veggies. (We lost our human fridge’s food too)
We’re not sure when we’re getting power back, we may need to reschedule some rat pickups if we don’t get our power back by tomorrow.

On a separate note, we’ll be posting pictures from this last photo shoot next week, along with any rats that may be left that are looking for homes.
