Pawsuasive Dog Teaching

Pawsuasive Dog Teaching I only use persuasive dog teaching methods. I do not need prong or tens (shock) collars. I have been teaching dogs for over 30 years.

My last dog was a Yellow lab / husky mix her name is Fredricka. She knew well over 60 tricks. Towards the end she lost control over her back legs. I tried and tried to find help for her but everyone wanted too much. We reached out to charities and no help. She still was eating and drinking fine and fully alert she just lost control over her back legs. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do

in my life. But her last night here we drank her favorite beer (bud bottle) and ate cheese. What sucks her heart got stronger after the vet gave her the deadly potion. This spiraled me into a very deep depression. A neighbor tried to help by giving me a really great deal on a pure bread german shepherd puppy but a stalker ended up poisoning it. That just threw me into even a deeper depression. I did stop teaching dogs during this time I just could not deal with the loss. Then the wild and crazy dog Ruby Doo came into my life after 5 years later and I still was really struggling with depression. My mom actually wanted Ruby Doo because she is a pretty dog. Ruby Doo was already 1 year hold and she was so absolutely wild and crazy the shelter had a warning on her paperwork to have 2 people handle her. They also told me she would be impossible to teach. So mom asked If I could teach Ruby Doo for her and I said I would. Well in reality my mom got Ruby Doo for me. Ruby Doo got me to a point I can at least deal with life a lot better. She currenlty knows over 60 tricks and several service dog tasks. She has won first place in 3 trick dog contests. Might have been 4 if Ruby Doo and I were kicked out of last years Dogtoberfest for advertising. I was not giving out pricing information or anything just showing off Rubys super cool dog tricks at the event. You would think people would appreciate the free entertainment but as always some toxic people came into my life. So now I am doing my best to stay positive and open minded so I can be the best dog teacher ever. Someone told me a rival dog teaching business complained not sure if its true or not but does make perfect sense. I can teach dogs anything from basic commands to tricks and service dog tasks and behavior modication.

I have investigated many of these online things saying they can give you a piece of paper allowing you public access. They all have turned out to be scams so far. You can not properly evaluate a dog online. Its these type of certifications that give service dogs a bad reputation. My History

My passion has been dog teaching for a long time, but just never really wanted to charge for my time. I just really enjoy seeing people do amazing things with their dogs. My last dog which was a yellow lab / husky mix knew over 60 words and 10 people by name. She is the one in the avatar picture for www.facebook.com/KCDogParks sitting pretty with treat on her nose. Got her when she was a small puppy cotton ball. She lived for almost 13 years and taught me so much about dog teaching. When I had to put her down it literally destroyed my world.

Well now a few years later Ruby came into my life. When I rescued her from Wayside she had a warning on her paperwork to have 2 people handler to show her to people. She was that wild and crazy. She was not treat or toy motivated at all. All she wanted to do is get out and run away. I just had a feeling that if I did not take her no one would or she would get someone that would end up having to put her down.

Well that first week was very iffy. She escaped 2 times shortly after I took her home. Also almost lost her to several different cars almost hitting her. That is when I decided the first thing to teach her is the word “IN”, which means to jump into the car. Which worked awesome because the next week or 2 she escaped a few more times. So it was nice to be able to chase her down with my car and open the back door as I drove up to her and told her IN. She would jump in and I would drive us back home.

Well ever since then I have worked with wild and crazy Ruby to shape her into one of the best taught dogs I have seen. Now a little over a year after I rescued this crazy dog, Ruby knows over 40 words and 2 people by name. My goal is to get her over 100 words. I am applying all the stuff Fredricka taught me to teaching Ruby and so far its working great.
