Earlier this week we partnered with Humane World for Animals, formally The Humane Society of the United States, and assisted the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office with the seizure of more than 400 roosters and hens from an alleged cockfighting operation in Sumner County, Kansas.

Once on the scene we identified 3 sweet puppies. It became clear to us that the situation on the property wasn’t ideal for these puppies. They were surrendered to us while the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office executed a cockfighting warrant for the 400+ birds on the property.

Just truly heartbreaking. 💔

These three babes are now SAFE in our custody after multiple agencies partnered together to get them to our facility.

Partnering with national organizations that believe in the humane care for all animals is part of our job at The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City. With your support, we were able to say yes to these pups without hesitation. Again, these puppies are safe because of YOUR support. ❤

Don’t forget, in just a couple of days we will be cheering on our team in 🧡ORANGE🧡 for the Puppy Bowl!

We are so grateful Derrick Nnadi came out to be Parsnip’s head coach and taught him everything he needed to know before heading off to the big game!

Kansas City Defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi took on the role of a coach. This time he was training a 4-month-old puppy named Parsnip to make his debut at Puppy Bowl XXI.

Sweet Miss Ethel is looking for someone to fall in love with her. 🥹

She is 14, can’t hear that well (or chooses not to 🫣), her vision isn’t great, she’s got a hitch in her giddy up, and has several lumps and bumps but STILL remains to be the sweetest old lady out there!❤️

Mr. Bigmus (appropriately named due to his size) is THE goofiest, silliest, cuddle bug out there. Just look how happy he is in our team members' arms.❤ He's ONLY about 80 pounds, so some may even call him small! 😆

Mr.Bigmus loves all people, other dogs, and is looking for a home with a MASSIVE couch that he can stretch out on.

❤🏉 Our very own Parsnip was selected to play in the on Animal Planet, Sunday, February 9th at 1pm CST!!!!!!

We can't wait to see the CUTEST sporting event of the year!!!!

It's not everyday that we have our very own shelter pup make it to the big screen!

Puppy Bowl

❤URGENT RESCUE MISSION❤
When a community member knew she needed help, she came to us.
Our team quickly sprang into action to rescue 20 puppies from a local resident last night.

It is obvious some of these puppies will need medical intervention. Some of them will require constant care (supplemental bottle feedings -- they are sooooo tiny 💔), and so much more.

We are grateful that we have built a relationship with our community members where they feel safe coming and asking for help!! We are also working with her on getting the dogs she wants to keep fixed so there will be no more babies!

Our goal is to find all of our animals purrfect homes the year. 🎁
Our animals come spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, up to date of flea/tick/heartworm prevention.
