🎆It's only Tuesday and we are starting to hear fireworks everywhere!🎆
Here are 5 QUICK TIPS to help you keep your pet safe this week.
1️⃣ Make sure your pet is microchipped AND the ownership information is up to date. If you are unsure if your pet is chipped you can take them to any shelter or vet clinic to have them scanned. We offer microchipping (no appointment necessary) for $30.00 seven days a week.
2️⃣ Make sure your pet has a collar AND an I.D. tag with your contact information. We have an amazing tag engraver with fun tags available for purchase. PRO TIP: Don't put your address on the I.D. tag. We recommend putting "Scan Me, I'm Microchipped" on the tag. That way you can keep your personal information safe.
3️⃣ If your pet struggles with anxiety or stressful situations, call your vet now to get a refill of calming meds. If this is the first time requesting medications, call now to get your appointment. PRO TIP: Most veterinary clinics (including ours) will be CLOSED on the 4th, so call TODAY!
4️⃣ Create a safe space (or den) for your pet(s) for the weekend. Use a kennel with a soft bed, enrichment toys, you can use calming scents in a diffuser, play soft music, pull the curtains closed. This will help keep them calm and comfortable. PRO TIP: If you are having people over to your house, put a sign on the door that says, "Scared Pet, Please Leave Door Closed"
5️⃣ Get a plan AHEAD of time in the event your pet escapes. Write down your local animal shelters, animal control agencies, and emergency vet clinics with their phone numbers and addresses. That way, if something were to happen, you don't have to panic trying to figure out where to go.
