Simply Grooming by Gia is a local, woman-owned, minority-owned, pet salon and pet boutique that offers personalized, compassionate, grooming in safety-centric environment. We focus on QUALITY rather than quantity, and believe that this is what is best and safest for your pet. We believe in gentle, low-stress, interactions with both our two and four legged clients. We offer convenient by-appointmen

t scheduling Monday through Saturday. For the safety and comfort of all involved, we ask that you keep your dog on a monthly schedule. Our staff are pet CPR certified, certified in ares of individual interest- including Master certification, participate in continuing education, and compete in grooming, several speak on grooming related subjects within the industry. We are committed to building lasting personal relationships with you, your pets and each other and believe that low turn over in any business is a sign of this kind of commitment! As good stewards of the planet we all share, we use natural products (even our products used if your pet has fleas are non-chemical), and practice green habits -including recycling all that we can and using local and re-purposed items in our shop where possible. We are picky tho…they must meet criteria (limited ingredients, from New Zealand, Canada or the U.S., and our own pack and the staff dogs must test them and find them palatable and exciting). New in the shop this week are Open Farm Be Good Bites which are soft and come in 6 yummy flavors including a plant based option for dogs allergic to meat proteins. 5 years ago this week Katelyn Peterman a certified master groomer who shares so many of our goals, vision, values and ethics joined our team. One never knows what the future holds til it happens and tho we hire with the goal of it being long term, you just never know. We couldn’t be happier to still have her on our staff. Or happier to call her a friend as well. Today we celebrate her by buying her favorite, Rudy’s Tenampa, for all of us for lunch. Happy anniversary Peter Pan.

We are late with updating y’all on our beloved Cecile. So she did indeed have a “nasty nasty urinary tract infection” that very likely caused the 1 grand mal seizure on September 1. She’s had none before and none since thank goodness. She completed a two week round of antibiotics and pee tested clear of infection this past Friday. Monday she got bloodwork to check her extremely elevated liver enzymes and see how her kidney disease is progressing or stabilizing (we get results today 🤞). Although she can get up and walk small distances, it tires her out so a little over a week ago she was fitted at PT for a four wheel cart (her front legs are not strong enough alone to support a 2 wheel wheelchair). She is loving the refound mobility. Her mood is good and she’s back to her stubborn silly ways and her appetite is even better than her mood. She’s plowing through meals which is fantastic news. Thanks for the love and good juju and prayers. She remains the most important being in the world to us.
