We have seen some really cold temperatures lately. Help keep your pets feet protected from the extreme cold by applying a daily PawTection balm. Also creates a barrier between the salt/ice melt and your pets skin. You can pick up your PawTection any time the Spaw is open and you can even add it on to your pets appointment and we will apply it for you before they go home.

Just like many of you, we have been closely following the situation regarding the mysterious canine respiratory illness affecting dogs in the U.S. As always, we’re taking the safety of your pets very seriously. We have increased our already rigorous cleaning procedures and are working hard to make sure no pets come into contact with each other. In addition to these extra steps, we’re asking that our customers are open and honest with us about their pets’ health. Over the coming weeks, you will be asked at drop off if any dog in your household has been coughing, sneezing, or acting lethargic. Though we understand how important it is to you to have your pets groomed for the holidays, we ask that you please be honest in your response. We are also asking that you please bring your pet into the salon on a leash to help avoid any contact between dogs.

It takes the work of a community to keep a community safe. The best thing we can do for our pets right now is keep them away from high risk settings like daycares and dog parks and, as always, make sure they are up to date on all vaccines. The health of your pets is important to us and we appreciate your help in keeping them safe.

Grooming senior dogs can take some extra love and care. Dogs are just like us. As they get older, they get grumpy. Things start to hurt and really just want everyone to leave them alone sometimes. Zoi is about 17 and had been having trouble getting groomed. I’m so glad I was able to work with her to get her all cleaned up. Grooming senior pets is not a beauty contest. It’s about keeping them comfortable and healthy. Roman loves to get beautified at the Spaw. He takes about 2hours just to bathe, dry and brush. He has so much patience for this process. Not every dog can handle 3 hours on a grooming table. Luckily I have 2 @pawmat_pets stacked to keep him comfy during this long process!
