The Mayor's Tree Lighting is this evening, Friday, December 1 at 6 pm on the SW corner of Swift & Armour! We will be giving away holiday goody bags to the first 300 kids! Enjoy festive sing-a-longs, classic holiday refreshments, kids craft, photo op, a special visit from Santa & his elves, and pony rides for the kids. We hope to see you there!🎄

We’ve teamed up with local businesses in NKC for our Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony! Come for the ceremony, stay for the specials! Businesses tagged in our post will be running their promotions throughout the weekend in NKC, 12/1-12/3, during their business hours (unless otherwise noted). 🎁

We're only two weeks away from the City of North Kansas City's Mayor's Tree Lighting on Friday, December 1 starting at 6 pm. The Lighting will be in a new location this year, at the SW corner of Armour Road and Swift Street across from CVS Pharmacy.

Join us for a magical holiday experience! We will have Briarcliff Elementary choir kick off our ceremony with a few holiday jingles, lighting of the tree, festive treats, crafts for kids, photo ops, pony rides, and of course a visit from Santa and his elves to commence the holiday season! 🎄 Free and open to the public!

Feel the Warmth has been postponed to next week due to the weather and upcoming holiday. This will allows for the staff to restock throughout the week as needed and make sure the items provide the warmth needed! Hats, gloves, and scarves will be hung along the fence line at all our parks on Monday, November 27 and will be available for anyone needing extra warmth to take. Thank you to everyone who provided donations this year!

It's finally here! Mistletowne Market opens this morning at 10 am! Open until 6 pm and tomorrow, November 19 from 10 am to 4 pm. We have over 20 vendors for you to shop from including a Mimosa Bar for you to sip and shop, a kids craft corner, live music, Senior Bake Sale, and Snow & Roast Mobile Cafe slinging warm beverages and shaved ice. You won't want to miss out on this incredible event!

This year marks the sixth year of our Feel the Warm Project which provides scarves, hats, and gloves to anyone in need of a little extra warmth during the winter season. Donations from the community are what make this project possible. We are still accepting handmade or store bought (with tags) hats, gloves, and scarf donations through this Friday, November 10.

All donations will be tagged with a note from North Kansas City Parks & Recreation and hung on the fence lines of Dagg Park, Macken Park, and Waggin' Trail Dog Park the morning of Monday, November 20 and be available through Wednesday, November 22 on a first come, first serve basis.

As we move into colder months, our Park Staff has prepared and have winterized our parks over the past few weeks. This means that all drinking fountains, ballfield restrooms at Macken Park, and restrooms at Dagg Park have been shut off/closed.

If you are visiting Dagg Park, restrooms are available during business hours across the street at City Hall or at the Public Library.

If you are visiting Macken Park, restrooms are available on Howell Street or on Clark Ferguson near the Festival Shelter.

If you are visiting Waggin' Trail Dog Park, please be prepared and bring your own water.

Join NKC Parks & Recreation for the 2023 Mid-America Regional Council Ploggathon TOMORROW, Saturday, October 21, at 9 am. Fun for all ages! Just grab a plastic grocery store trash bag and join the party. Gloves will be available, and walkers are welcome, too. Co****le Leagues are back for the Fall! Games will be 2 vs 2 with each team playing two matches per night. This league will run for five weeks, four weeks of games with a single elimination tournament the fifth week. Wednesdays, November 15 through December 20 (no games Nov 22) at 6 pm. $50 fee per team. Register at nkcparksandrec.org/cornhole.

Howl-O-Ween is tomorrow, October 14! Dress up your pup and join us for a howlin' good time! The fun starts at 1pm. Large Dog costume contest is at 1:30 pm. Small Dog costume contest is at 1:45 pm. With a $5 donation you will receive entry into the costume contest and a goody bag for your pup! Proceeds benefit City of North Kansas City Animal Shelter. See you there! 🐶🎃👻

A huge part of the fun of Howl-O-Ween is seeing all the pups in their costumes! We can't wait to see what you dress your pup as tomorrow, October 14. There are some pretty sweet prizes for our first place winners too! First place on the large dog side will receive a Chewy Goody Box. First place winner on the small dog side will receive a Halloween Count Down Prize Box. Prizes will be given out for second and third place as well.

Event is 1 pm to 2:30 pm. Large Dog costume contest will be at 1:30 pm and small dog costume contest will be at 1:45 pm. See you there! 🐶🎃👻

Be sure to bring your lawn chair and enjoy an amazing night of music! Friday, October 13 at 7 PM at the Festival Shelter in Macken Park. Please remember no alcohol permitted in the park.
