The Kansas Hunter Jumper Associations - KHJA Fundraiser Show was last weekend, and WEF brought 8 horses and 10 riders!

Despite the heat and humidity, everyone rode beautifully! I think this was our best show ever as a farm! I'm so excited for how far we've come and looking forward to the future!

Please forgive me for being late and out of order, but congratulations to Melanie Koup on her purchase of Lemmy Kilmister! Yes, that's really his name, and yes he is a total rockstar! This imported German Warmblood is stepping from 3rd level dressage to the hunter/jumper ring with Mel and making it look so easy! This pair will start their show career this summer and we are so excited for them.

Congratulations to the Zappia family on their purchase of Sambuca! This horse has done EVERYTHING, he did the 1.40 in Europe, did the performance hunters and the derbies on the west coast, went to Junior Hunter Finals in 2017, he is a STAR. In no way does he want to be retired, so he's taken on his most important job of all: showing an 11 year old the ropes of the 2' hunters! Thank you to Jamie Barclay for bringing this special boy into our lives! We promise to treat him like the king he is!

We had a great time at the KCPHA/KHJA's Longview I! WEF brought 9 riders and 7 horses to the show, and everyone did super!

Our first time at the Gulf Coast Classic was so much fun! What a fabulous, well managed show, and 30 mins from the beach!

Christine Ely and Karl stepped into their first rated jumper rings and came away with several blue ribbons. They also conquered the man eating jumps on the center line! So excited for the future for these two!

Luna Jesik and Kai also had their first rounds together at a rated show and earned ribbons in very good company. Watching these two grow to trust and understand each other has been such a fun process!

Last but never least, Natalie Jin stepped into her first classes at a rated show with Ghloe. These two are trailblazing: a 9 year old rider on a 5 year old pony she leased less than a month ago, and they were 4th/9 in the short stirrup classic!

So proud of everyone, thanks to all of our parents for making it a fun week and for being the best groom out there!

Spring is off to a busy start at West End!

On March 1 and 2, we hosted the final show of our KCPHA Brr Winter Series. We had excellent turnout and perfect weather. Thank you to everyone who came out and as always to Ashley Behlen for hosting and Haley Johnson for the lovely photos. We had 12 pairs from WEF showing and everyone did so great, lots of first shows and first blue ribbons.

Last weekend, we hosted a clinic with Nebraska-based Grand Prix rider and trainer Shana Winkel. Again, the weather was absolutely perfect, and we had excellent turnout with 15 rides a day.

This week, we are headed to Mississippi for the final week of the Gulf Coast Classic. We are so excited to get back into the rated ring beachside!

What a week! Congratulations are also due to Luna Jesik on her purchase of Kaiser Von C. This is another special, special gelding who I was having a very hard time parting with. Luckily, he sold in the barn, so we get to keep him around! Look for Kai and Luna's show career to start at the Gulf Coast Classic in March! We are so excited to see how far these two go together-sky's the limit with this talented Trakehner gelding!

Congratulations to Meg Hawthorne on her purchase of On High. It was incredibly hard to let go of this special homebred, but his talents were in the dressage ring and mine definitely are not! We are so lucky to have him staying in Kansas in the absolute best home.

Thank you so much to Katelyn Kok and KV Dressage. Katelyn runs the best dressage sales program in the Midwest, and if you can get on her waiting list, it's well worth it!

Congratulations to the Perkins family on their purchase of Montego! We headed south to pick up the perfect jumper for another client and ended up finding the perfect children's hunter as well! Thank you ES Sporthorses and Liz Siadous for another great one!
