We raise and preserve the British Labrador Retriever that specifically is Sandyland linebred to preserve our favorite pedigree and type of labrador. Our Labradors favor more to the UK standard even though AKC registered since it is primarily an old time imported line we are trying to maintain through careful planned out-crossings and line-breedings. We have not had a litter since December of 2018

and as of now, we don't foresee anything for another 2-3 years. Fortunately, this time line has not been a hinderance due to the pandemic. We hope to carry on our line through our foundation bitch's granddaughter when the time comes. Our foundation bitch was Starquest Enchantress Of Moonlight Drive and our foundation sire was JMJ's Purple Reign. Their son produced a female that we look forward to at some pointing carrying on our x chromosome that is from a Sandyland Gaddabout son linebreeding (Lenche's Gallivant). We have a private facebook group for those with puppies already from us and those that wish to acquire one.

(AKC/UKC) Zenith's All Hail Shadow FTN (AKC title application pending)

Two days in Topeka as a 13 month old and so much growth in mental/behavioral MATURITY since we last showed as a 9 1/2 month old male class dog! For that, I was so proud of Shadow for being a Big boy in the ring. He was relatively flawless and was very happy and in a great mood (he loves to show!)

He is from a late to bloom line and it won't be till closer to age 2 1/2-3 years before he is fully filled out and done growing and won't look quite as long in the body as we do now without our front down yet.

We still don't have our front growth spurt yet (not expected till right before age 2 or so) but until then, we are enjoying real ring time practice when it works out and we can move like a well oiled machine 😎 (our biggest weapon)

We got our first experience in for Barn Hunt! That's gonna be fun to train for - Josh is gonna sh** himself when I bring home some rats to use for training 😅😂🤣🤪🙃🤷

If my husbands cancer can continue to stay in NED/remission status, planning to move spring /summer of 2025 and will resume breeding at that point. Shadow (Prince /Zena Grandson) will only be 2 years old so timing will be perfect if all works out 🙏🙏🙏

Until then, AKC & UKC shows this fall/winter starting with Topeka Kennel Club this weekend ❤️

Considering also Lawrence & Gray Summit as well as a UKC show in Nov/December.

Someone is going on vacation tomorrow. It must be a right of passage to go on a vacation at age 1. His aunt Nala got to go to Colorado with her mother when she was a year old too. Her nephew is going somewhere "else". I can't wait to see what he thinks of the ocean 🌊

When he gets home, he will be learning to shed hunt this fall! Maybe a shed hunt title will be in his future 🤔🙃

And just like that - we are a year old! What a year!

We survived "canine virus 2023" twice over as a new puppy 👀🥺 recover and came back to take some prestigious placements as a puppy over memo pup and pro handlers. We had a wrist injury that had us down and out for a few days but all that didn't stop us from titling in Fetch as an 8 month old with no formal training. We hope to hit up some IABCA shows for our national title and get more points in UKC for our second year of shows and God willing, maybe get pointed in AKC 😅🤔🙃

A couple weeks ago, started teaching Shadow to use his nose to track his ball. We started in small grass, moved to tall grass once he connected the behavior action to the command, then we moved to snow. Since it's been too cold to go outside, we have moved the game to indoors but have switched it up to a more "search and rescue" form of our game "find it" for finding articles of clothing. It was a new twist but he caught on quick and is doing well for first day of the new game and not quite 6 months old yet. Over time, we will build upon it to learn more and maybe at some point we can move into search and rescue and or get certified in AKC with the Barn Scent title available. In following the scent of a trail, however, snow can be a double-edged sword. Colder environments have fewer smells than warmer ones, making them olfactorily less "noisy" for a dog's sensitive nose to pick out the right scent. "The low level of available scent is difficult for the dog to detect. This one went well... The next one, we literally lost the ball into a port hole, I'm convinced😂🤣😅 (we both looked/sweeped the area and it was gone. Here is one before the sun went down Using his scent to locate. We are up wind and in a field so it's not easy when the ball is in the thick of the mix. He has to locate the ball scent through all the other grass and animal scent He eventually does find it

"find it" at night during a "snow storm" that came through Kansas City yesterday evening "find it" is a new game/command we have been learning the past week or so. Basically, he is learning to use his nose to locate an object. Whether it be a bird or small animal or in this case a tennis ball. Sometimes I will lace it with bird scent but this is just a new tennis ball smell he is looking for. Plenty of distractions and he still nailed it!

Definitely some water fowl drive in there 😎

If we are this put together at age 4 months, can you imagine what he is will be like at age 2?! 🤩

Our Story

Welcome to our gallery of our Labrador Retrievers! We are formerly known as Skyhaven Labradors but after our matriarch passed away in an untimely fashion, we decided to rename ourselves, Zenith Labrador Retrievers, in her honor. Forever our beloved Warrior Princess: Zena.

We continue her bloodline through her sons, daughters and her nephew. Her nephew (Zeus) is currently our future leading man. He is having fun in the show ring currently. We look forward to his male descendants on occasion to keep our line of Labradors going.

Occasionally we may have Labrador Retrievers available for families and hunting companions. Our focus is striving for solid temperament, sound structure and strong retrieval drive if we do.
