What an incredible day with our animal welfare partners giving back to our community! 💙

On Sunday, we joined forces for the 4th annual Project Pet Warmth with Great Plains SPCA, KC Pet Project, Pet Resource Center of Kansas City , Heart of America Humane Society, and Wayside Waifs to provide free, life-saving resources and microchips for pet owners. Vehicles left packed to the brim with food, treats, toys, dog houses, beds, coats, bowls, and so much more! Many households had several pets, each receiving the resources they needed. We helped over 130 families and over 438 pets.

The gratitude from the pet owners—and their pets—was truly heartwarming. It was amazing to see so many organizations come together to ensure these pets and their families have what they need to thrive.

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Junebug! 💛 People say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. One glance into Junebug's eyes, and we're sure you'll agree. Junebug is so much fun. She can be a little weary of new things or people. But once she gets to know a kind person, she loves hard. True to her lab breed, she is SMART!

Junebug will need an adult-only home with folks willing to be patient with her, and your patience will be rewarded ten-fold. She is 3 years old. She loves her squishmallows more than anything. This girl is quite snuggly and loving. Once she trusts you she is quite the goofball. She learns commands quickly and training is a breeze. She would do best in a home with a yard and would not do well in an apartment. She would do best with a couple of meets with her new adopters prior to transitioning to their home so she is better acquainted with them when she makes that transition.

Junebug has spent time with our training colleagues at The Pet Connection in a board and train program. She is currently in a foster home with one of their trainers. They will provide ongoing training support to her new family after her adoption.

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Aurelia! 🧡 Aurelia may take a bit of time to get comfortable with you, but once she does your patience will be immensely rewarded by this very sweet and loving girl. She is 4 years old and is a very mellow and low-key companion. She enjoys being with her people, will follow them room to room, and enjoys chirping and chatting with them. This girl loves her belly rubs so be ready to dish them out!

Aurelia would prefer a more quiet home where she can take naps on the couch next to her person. She loves pets and will put her little head on your leg when she wants to be close. Watching squirrels and birds out the windows is also a favorite pastime. She does not like to be picked up so we suggest no young children. She uses her litter box and scratching post well and likes to play for short periods of time. This girl loves to eat and you can count on her to be in the kitchen when foster mom is fixing her meal. Wet pate is her favorite! Aurelia will be a wonderful companion for an adult home. She would do best as the only pet in the home with no other cats or dogs.

We're gearing up for Project Pet Warmth! ❄️🐾

We are excited to be co-hosting the 4th annual Project Pet Warmth event Sunday, January 26th from 10am to 12pm. Partnering with KC Pet Project, Heart of America Humane Society, Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, Great Plains SPCA, Pet Resource Center of Kansas City and Wayside Waifs; we will be providing FREE supplies and resources to pets in our community to keep warm and safe during the winter months.

We'll be distributing dog houses, kennels, straw, blankets, food, coats, and more while supplies last at this drive-thru event at the Linwood YMCA/James B. Nutter, Sr. Community Center!

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Yoshi! 💚 Yoshi is a 1 year old black lab mix. He is a very sweet and cuddly boy, often referred to as a "velcro dog". He likes to know where his people are and be with them whenever he can. This guy loves to spoon and sleep next to his people in the bed. He's very playful and loves chasing balls. He may destroy a stuffed dog toy, but he knows what is his and what isn't and he is not destructive with other things. Being young and with his breed, he would do best with space to run or with a person who is active and will take him on runs/frequent outings.

Yoshi is great with other dogs and does well with cats. He would do well with older kids. We do not advise toddlers just due to his size and energy. He know his basic commands like sit, stay, leave it. Apply today to meet this absolutely fantastic boy!

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Rollo! 💜 Hi! I'm Rollo. Foster Mom says I'm the cutest boy and I think you'll agree! I'm around 8 months old and once I get to know I'm safe with you, I turn into the most affectionate boy! I do get scared of loud noises and fast movements so young kids in the home is probably not a good match for me, but older kids would be fine. I am down for pets any time you want, and especially cuddles and rubs against your legs. I'll play with just about any toy I can find and would do best as the only cat or with another more passive cat because when friends try to play rough with me I get a little freaked out! I use my litter box well. I am also friendly with respectful dogs! I got my name Rollo because I'm constantly rolling over for belly rubs. Can I join your family and get lots of belly rubs from you?

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Boo Bear! 🐻 Boo Bear is a 3 month old small breed terrier mix. He is currently about 4-5lbs.
He is playful and loves to explore and get into all kinds of puppy mischief. He will let you hold him and snuggle but only after playtime is over and he's out of energy. He does great with respectful kids. They will need to be careful due to his small size. He also does well with dogs and is using his potty pads well. He'll transition to outside potty training soon! MEDICAL DONATIONS NEEDED: Sweet Ruby is 12 years old and came to us after being found on the street, extremely neglected. Our vet partners say that Ruby has been through a lot in her 12 years. She is completely blind secondary to a severe dry eye issue that was not treated, and her eyes are very painful for her. Additionally, she is in need of a dental. Can you help us raise some funds to cover Ruby's needed procedures to address her eyes and her teeth?

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Leo! ❤ Leo is quite the handsome and proper gentleman. Leo was rescued from an outdoor colony when the caretaker had to move away. While that was unfortunately, it became clear quickly that Leo was very eager to embrace the indoor life! He bonded to foster Mom quickly and is such an affectionate and loving boy.

After his rescue, Leo was found to have asthma. This is managed with a Flovent inhaler twice daily to prevent flares and an albuterol inhaler as needed when his wheezing happens. It is possible he could require intermittent doses or systemic steroids if he flares but he's been doing well for several months once we got his asthma stabilized.

Leo does well with other cats, uses his litter box well, likes to play, and of course to receive all of the pets and cuddles. Apply today to meet this special boy.

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Levi! 💛 He's an irresistibly charming and bilingual (he responds to both English and Spanish commands!) little boy who is seeking his forever home with a new family!

This insanely adorable and charismatic guy is approximately one-year-old and weighs in at a modest 41 pounds of love! Blessed with an endearing personality, Levi finds joy in the simple things like playing with his favorite toys, fetching, a good game of tug, and chomping on bully sticks. His affectionate nature truly shines when in the company of people who will rub his tummy and call him handsome! He can jump a 4 foot fence, so he will require a tall privacy fence or leash walking.

Levi’s unwavering love extends to all, be it adults, kids, or fellow canine friends, making him the perfect addition to nearly any family. Not only does he sit on command, and walk nicely on a harness/leash, but Levi is also excitedly expanding his repertoire of tricks! He is food motivated and loves learning.

Warm in his foster home, he now dreams of finding a loving home where his silly and playful antics will be cherished and rewarded with cuddles and play time.

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Mia! 💜 Mia has made huge progress from when she was found on the streets of Kansas City, Kansas. She is 2 years old and is a small, 30 lb dog with lots of affection to give. She has become a ride along, errand running buddy who loves going to home improvement stores and meeting new people (especially if they give her treats)! When taking treats from her foster or strangers she happily takes it gently. Mia is also excited to go for walks and has been in training with professional dog trainers for the past 6 months to build her confidence and counter conditioning her fear reactivities.

Mia has learned a few commands and is great on a leash. She knows sit, wait, with me, come, kennel, and we’re working on leave it. She is kennel trained, and enjoys a peanut butter Kong when she goes in.

At home she finds her quiet napping spots after playing in the yard. Her favorite play activities are to chase or be chased and wrestling with her foster sister, and zoomies in general.

Being from the street Mia resource guards with other dogs, but she has been making great strides and has been making great strides. She would do best with a larger non-reactive dog who likes to play or as a solo dog. No cats or young children. She can jump a short fence so she will require a tall privacy fence or leash walking for potty breaks.

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Dash! ❤ Dash is a 9 year old special boy looking for a more quiet home. Dash has a very mild form of a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia, which is a neurological condition he was born with. It causes him to be slightly wobbly. It otherwise does not affect his health, require any medication or special vet care, and he is very happy and healthy!

He was beloved by 1 owner for 9 years and sadly this owner passed away. Shortly after coming to our rescue, Dash's brother Willow also passed away due to liver cancer. Dash is needing to find someone to help heal his heart. He would thrive in a more quiet home where he can cuddle, relax, and be doted upon. He would do well with other calm cats, but not cats who are high energy and want to play of be in his face. Dash LOVES to snuggle and goes absolutely bonkers for brushing time! Definitely a way to his hearts. No small children for this laid back boy but he has done well with quiet, respectful dogs.

Willow Update: Willow got to have a visit from foster Mom and Dad last night and was happy to see a familiar face and get a brushing. He got his first of 2 blood transfusions but is still in the ICU due to low-normal blood pressure and needing help to regulate his temperature.
