Hello KC Young Farmers community,

We’re writing to give an update on what the Chapter is working on for the next few months. As you may have seen, we have some work to do building consensus on how to move forward as a group.
With the National Coalition recently relaunching their Chapter model to align with the 2021-2026 Strategic Plan (check it out!) this is good timing for us to revisit our Chapter structure and vision.

To that end, the KC Chapter is taking a programming and communications pause for the next months. We’re using this time to really dig in on strategic planning for our Chapter and clarify our vision.

We are confident that taking this time to regroup will help the Chapter come back stronger so that we can continue to build a powerful farming community here!

Please do continue to turn to your neighbors and each other for support and we will gather again in a while.

🌱
In community and hope,

Ashley, Ashly, Jonathan, Lydia, Nicholás

Unfortunately this morning this event was canceled by the host farm due to unfavorable conditions in the field. We extended out deepest apologies to those who made arrangements to make the trip without adequate communication. We will reevaluate our means of information sharing so that this does not happen again in the future. We hope you remain committed to assisting area farmers in our weedeaters program. Again we apologize for the breakdown in communication.

Who Are The KC Young Farmers?

KC Young Farmers Coalition is a regional chapter of the National Young Farmers Coalition formed in February 2019. Our members include urban and rural farmers ranging in experience from aspiring to farmers with ten years or less experience in agriculture. KC Young Farmers extends membership to friends of farmers and farmer allies who wish to give their support to the development and success of new farmers.

KC Young Farmers Coalition formed to serve as a collective resource to aspiring and new farmers by offering community, advice, seed discounts, tool shares, educational opportunities and shared labor. Involvement in our chapter provides a platform for participation in local, state, and national policy campaigns on issues that affect new farmers.
