On Tuesday, the Pawsperity Salon in Lee’s Summit became The Salon Furever Pets!

Last month, Christine Banks, Salon Manager, officially purchased the salon from Pawsperity.

The Salon was established in 2019 and has been entirely staffed and managed by program graduates. Christine has been the manager since then and has had her eye on purchasing since the beginning.

Christine’s new salon, The Salon Furever Pets, will operate entirely separate from Pawsperity as an independent, for-profit business. Congratulations, Christine, on illustrating how Pawsperity graduates Unleash the Power of Human Potential!

Racheal received Avila University's award for Best Senior Capstone project for her work on safety protocols at Pawsperity. She also received several other awards recognizing her excellence in the field of social work.

Mark Churchill, Director of Student Services and Field Supervisor received UMKC's award for Field Instructor of the Year from the Social Work Field Education Department.

Pawsperity was awarded Field Site of the year for 2023-2034 from Avila University's Social Work Field Education Department.

Our building is coming along with the finishing touches. We moved in December and opened our school and salon on January 3rd. We plan to open our new salon and Doggie Daycare on February 13th. We are so thankful for Swope Health's mobile dental clinic that comes to our school every other month to provide dental services to our students.
