This is Black Excellence at its best, y'all. Since 2014, Ophelia’s Blue Vine Farm has been committed to bringing fresh herbs and quality products to the Kansas City metro, inspired by the strength and resilience of our grandmother, Miss Ophelia—a single Black mother who raised six children, two of whom went on to play in the NFL. 🚨 Epic Announcement from Farmer Mike of Ophelia’s Blue Vine Farm! 🚨
Since 2014, Ophelia’s Blue Vine Farm has been committed to bringing fresh herbs to the Kansas City metro, inspired by the resilience and excellence of our grandmother, Miss Ophelia. A single Black mother who raised six children, two of whom went on to play in the NFL, Miss Ophelia taught us never to settle for second best. It’s her legacy that lives on in every herb we grow, every seed we plant, and now… in something truly special.
🌟 Introducing our EPIC Honey Sale! 🌟
For the first time ever, we are offering a limited edition pure honey unlike anything you've ever tasted. This isn’t just honey—it’s a blend from the 2023 and 2024 seasons, born from the soil of Kansas City's historic 18th & Vine District, where jazz and Black excellence thrive. Every drop is a testament to our mission of resilience, sustainability, and community.
Here’s why this honey is unlike any other:
🐝 The Story of Survival: In 2023, tragedy struck our urban farm when someone stole our honey and tragically killed 500,000 bees. The pain was unbearable, but in a twist of fate, we discovered a small amount of honey that was left behind. When we tasted it, we knew it was something extraordinary.
💧 Unique Taste: Our bees thrived on the native plants Farmer Mike lovingly planted, including patches of organic seeded watermelon and lemon thyme, which gave the honey its distinct flavor. Now, after two years of careful work, this one-of-a-kind honey is ready for you to enjoy.
📜 A Historical Blend: In 2024, we introduced local bees to the legendary lands of Edwardsville, KS, the same grounds farmed by Junius Groves, known as the "Potato King of the World." The bees flourished there, producing honey that’s not just delicious but deeply tied to Kansas City's agricultural legacy.
🐝 The Price of Excellence: Our honey is priced at $195.00 per ounce, and it comes in a commemorative 1-ounce glass jar—a tribute to the rare and powerful story behind it. The proceeds will go toward creating permanent infrastructure at Ophelia's Blue Vine Farm to ensure our Vine Street bees have a secure habitat.
This is more than honey—it’s a piece of history. It’s a symbol of resilience, rooted in a past filled with challenges and triumphs. We lost half a million bees, but we’ve come back stronger, ensuring their legacy lives on. 🐝✨
💡 About Junius Groves: Known as one of the wealthiest Black Americans of the 19th and early 20th centuries, Junius Groves was a visionary who revolutionized potato farming. He built a 22-room mansion, combated racism through economic empowerment, and contributed to Black communities across Kansas. His spirit lives on in the land we farm today.
🎥 Stay tuned for an upcoming documentary on Pioneer Junius George Groves – Potato King of the World, coming to TV in February!
👉 Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of Kansas City’s history. This honey is not just for sale—it’s part of our legacy, a testament to resilience, sustainability, and Black excellence.

🌿 Exciting News from Ophelia's Blue Vine Farm! 🌿

We had the pleasure of welcoming Stan from Missouri Organic Recycling to our farm, where he introduced us to a groundbreaking new type of compost: VRM Biologik HumiSoil! 🌍✨

💧 Why is HumiSoil Different?

Developed over 20 years ago in Australia by Ken Bellamy, the Groundswell process is now being implemented across 30 countries and is part of a 20 million acre program in China!
Unlike traditional compost, HumiSoil stimulates and deploys Fungi, Archaea, and Bacteria through a unique 2-part liquid inoculant.
This innovative process breathes sulfur, sequesters carbon, and absorbs all the essential nutrients from the feedstock while creating free water in the pile and soil after application.
🌱 Benefits of HumiSoil:

Restores the fungal/bacterial balance to its optimum levels.
Utilizes a wide range of biomass materials as feedstock and requires no specific formula or ratio!
Start with a moisture content of 70%—no turning or aeration needed!
Produces a high-value soil inoculant at a fraction of the cost of conventional fertilizers.
📈 Performance That Speaks Volumes:

Enjoy 3x more yield of finished material!
Say goodbye to 65% CO2 losses typical in composting—this process is efficient with no losses!
Enhanced plant growth, nutrient density, and the return of long-lost forage plants!
🌿 Cost-Efficiency:

Just two cubic yards (1500 lbs) of HumiSoil can treat one acre at a fraction of today’s fertilizer costs.
Available in both solid and concentrated liquid forms, including XLR8-Bio, which offers similar benefits.
📍 Find HumiSoil and XLR8-Bio at:
