Welcome to our page. We will be posting animals available to rescues daily. We really need these animals to be viewed easily.

Please keep discussions to the discussion board on the page to avoid clutter on the wall. Due to limited kennel space, pets posted on this page typically only have 4 days before they are subject to euthanization. Also pets in this facility are not for adoption by the general public. If you are interested in one of these animals, contact your local rescue group for them to facilitate and handle any adoptions. All information know about these animals will be included in the descriptions.

🆘 🆘 🆘 This Kitten needs immediate rescue. It’s clinically ill. This kitten is one of four that were abandoned at the Maurice Post Office this morning, sadly the other three kittens have passed away.🆘 🆘 🆘

FB Courtesy Post-Her name is Gracie she’s about 5 months old and she is fixed! She is not fully potty trained but is getting the hang of it. She’s friendly with other dogs and cats and especially people. She loves kisses, sleep, and definitely loves her food!! Available for rescue now. Our Shelter is located in Kaplan Louisiana.

UPDATE 12/5/2023 Ophelia, Oswald's mother, left us last Wednesday. She was chosen by a wonderful rescue in New York. Oswald is sad without her. He is the BEST natured/disciplined dog in our facility. Please open your hearts/home to him. DG 9/20/2023-Ophelia and Oswald are ready for that PERFECT forever home. They are wonderful==rarely bark, love to play, sweet dispositions, kenneled trained. Both have been neutered compliments of Brent's Legacy and Dr. Paul Whittington and his wonderful staff at Whittington Vet. Clinic.

Due to COVID 19 Restrictions, our facility is open to the Public M-F from 10AM-3PM, and Saturdays from 11AM-2PM. If you have an emergency outside of these hours, please contact your local law enforcement authorities.

We are a KILL Shelter, however EUTHANASIA is the LAST choice that we want to make. Thanks to the Vermilion Parish Police Jury, Animal Aid for Vermilion Area (AAVA), LA Imagine No Kill (LINK), Misfit Rescue, many Vermilion Parish Citizens, and our wonderful Staff, Volunteers and Fosters, we are able to save the lives of hundreds of animals each year.
