Storms rolling in put a damper on Puppy K and Tricks class tonight...but sometimes you just need to stand in awe of mother nature's beauty.
All is good at the TCCA campus , thankfully the storms passed without incident.
I find it hard to remember that my lovely Borzoi, Taj, was ever this small! This video is from spring 2020. Cha (the Pry Shep) was 15 inches tall. She remains 15 inches tall. Taj, meanwhile, is now about 33 inches at the shoulders. Cha is still in charge of him, however. Once the "Momma", always the Momma.
To say SOME of us are pretty excited about ADVANCED TRICKS class starting this week - is an understatement! Another FULL class of eager dogs and owners! TRICKS are addicting! FUN for dogs and humans too!
Getting two dogs to perform at the same time isn't part of the Advanced curriculum (yet), but that doesn't stop Ike and Savvy and Elaine and me (Patricia) from working on our Circus Act! We are already thinking ahead to Performer!! Now to coordinate that timing part.
"I have a piggie! It's MY piggie! I WON it!!"
And yes she did...Our lovely baby girl, 11 months, took a Best in Sweepstakes, a Best Opposite in Sweepstakes, and a 4 pt major all on two days at her very first shows, Fri and Sat at the Specialities sponsored by the Greater Twin Cities Borzoi Club, during the St. Croix Valley Kennel Club Shows, August 26 and 27th. My deepest thanks to my wonderful friend, Annette Fredericks, for showing Jada beautifully even though this girl is not exactly the Min Pin Annette was used to handling.
Officially - Jada is Howlinwolf Royalist Duchess Catherine@Ajjarda, but she will always be "Jade Tree" to us...bursting with energy and goodwill and kisses.
Thank you to all the members of the Greater Twin Cities Borzoi Club who were friendly and helpful -- and brought out their beautiful dogs for a wonderful weekend of watching Borzoi.
Evie has a new job! Isn't this just splendid?
Every dog needs a "Job"...and Evie is fortunate to have a few: loving her humans, learning new skills in Family Dog Manners, and this comfortable, confident cart pulling!! Evie, you are wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing this beautiful video, Tracy!
Please! Someone lead me to Puppy Kindergarten! I don't think we are going in the right direction!!!
Do you have a new pup at home? The socialization and early training in TCCA's awesome Puppy Kindergarten class are keys to developing a dog with confidence in the world and a focus on you. Come join us! Start your pup off in the right direction!
Class starts March 3rd! www.trueconnectionscanineacademy.com
BSS Taj (Big and slender and silver) vs SCB Challah (Short and chubby and black). Dogs don't notice or care about such outward differences...one of the things I adore about them. These two remind me daily of how easy it is to accept other Beings and just get your game going!
Have a joy-filled day!!
One thing I particularly love about dogs: they help keep you in the present moment. It's a beautiful day!
Let the TRICKS continue! Lisa has Caret well on the way to being a star hoop jumper, a trick he really enjoys performing. What an athletic dog! Intermediate Tricks is ready for registration for all you Tricksters from Novice. (And Annette always throws in something new we aren't expecting just to delight us!)
AGILITY at TCCA. Setting up for tonight's agility classes and had quite a bit of silly help. It just puts a smile on your face to watch these two. Can you believe that Taj (Borzoi pup) was one inch shorter than Cha (pry shep yearling) when he came home just 7 1/2 weeks ago! Come play with us! Dogs LOVE agility and we have a gorgeous, huge space covered in Great Mats for extra cushy running and jumping.
