Our Story

The WellPet Center is a family owned and operated, professional veterinary practice meeting the diverse needs of family dogs and cats in Katy, Fulshear, Richmond, and the surrounding areas with comprehensive, client-focused pet care. In the warm and inviting atmosphere of our brand new, state-of-the-art facility at 5910 FM 1463 in Katy, our veterinarians pay meaningful, compassionate attention to the four-legged companions in your life.

The WellPet Center Veterinary Hospital was first established in 2012, when Dr. Thurmond saw the need for a veterinary clinic that would serve the many needs of pet owners from across the state of Texas.

Initially based in a simple 1,800 square foot facility, The WellPet Center soon blossomed into a thriving practice run by three outstanding veterinarians, renowned for their compassionate veterinary care that quickly gained a reputation across the region. Soon, pet owners from Katy, Fulshear, West Houston and beyond started coming to us, when they required personalized pet care at affordable rates.

In January 2016, Dr. Thurmond, as well as Dr. Ping and their team of veterinarians and staff moved the veterinary clinic into a stunning, 10,000 square foot facility so that they could finally fulfill a vision for an even more innovative and accommodating veterinary center, fully equipped with multiple suites, boarding facilities, cutting-edge equipment and much more.
