Please help us find Private. He went missing from his yard in the Firethorne Neighborhood last night. He is a sweet 16 year old male neutered Shih tzu. His parents are very nervous, especially since he has poor vision and hearing. Please call the clinic 281-492-0409 if you have seen him!

Beryl is barrelling our way. While there is nothing we can do to change the storm, we can be as prepared as possible.

In addition to the normal preparedness, make sure that your animals are safely inside whenever possible and that large animals have shelter. If your animals take medications that require refrigeration, have a plan for those meds if you lose power.

This should not be a long term event for us, and hopefully, Houston and surrounding areas will be just fine.

We are ready at VERGI for whatever comes our way. We have a whole hospital generator on standby if needed. Many clinics are going to be closed tomorrow so if your pet is sick or injured, head our way. We never close and we will be here for you if you need us!

It’s time to pass on the cocoa mulch. This type of mulch is made from cocoa bean hulls. Although popular due to its attractive color and odor, it also attracts dogs with its sweet, chocolate smell. Depending on the amount, ingestion can cause a range of clinical signs from vomiting and diarrhea, to muscle tremors, elevated heart rate, hyperactivity, and even seizures. Instead consider shredded pine or cedar bark which are less toxic alternatives!

One of our Mason road family found this sweet baby just outside of Austin.
This is Molly she is a 3.5 year old 50 lb shepherd mix. She was found roaming the streets in Jonestown after her family could no longer care for her. She is heartworm negative, spayed, and fully vetted. Molly loves people and has been very gentle around everyone she has met; adults and children. She has gotten along well with 3 other dogs (all large) in the home as well as a 2 year old child.
She is potty trained, kennel trained, knows how to sit and come, walks well on a leash, and has shown no signs of food aggression or other negative behaviors.
Molly would love a home where she can be around her people. She does not seem overly energetic so I think she would do fine with or without a yard. Please give Molly a second chance at love. Send us a message or email [email protected] for more information
