Both of these dogs were found in a drainage ditch near the block of 6300 Magnolia Street in Old Katy (see map pic).
No collars and not microchipped.

The Aussie is a female, 24 lbs and the lab mix is a male at 98 lbs.

💙 Alvin 💙

Alvin is our LONGEST resident at the shelter. He has been with us for 363 days!! This fella will steal your heart in 5 minutes with his affectionate nature and goofy personality!

It’s been raining dogs at the shelter this past week and we want to make sure ALL of our beautiful dogs get seen to potential fosters/adopters!

Say H E L L O to Alvin! He is the longest dog in the shelter … over a year 😭 He gets overlooked a lot because he is a big boy and a black dog. He is just a goofy boy. He will steal your heart if you spend 5 minutes with him. He loves to play ball, go on walks and cuuuudle! Can you foster Alvin???

Say H E L L O to Gamora! We named her after the strong heroine character from Guardians of the Galaxy because this sweet mama was (we think) used for breeding and then dumped. 😭 She is learning to trust people and loves to be by your side. She would love a foster home too!

Say H E L L O to our beautiful black and tan Coonhound Elphaba! She was dumped right at our gate along with her puppy. Her puppy has since been adopted & Elphaba has been waiting for her turn. This swetie is much a pup herself with a lot of eagerness. She wants to please and loves affection. Can you foster her?

Say H E L L O to the happiest boy, Brutus! He has been on a weight loss journey since January 1st and is looking very trim! His previous owners must have let him eat anything because he was overweight and it wasn’t healthy. Brutus is great on a leash and would love to help you with your healthy goals too!

Last but definitely not least is Fisher! This boy gets overlooked because he looks like a mix breed. But this boy is a petite size who loves to play with toys as long as they do not squeak. As soon as they squeak he gets scared. 😳 His love language is t***y scratches and just being your shadow.

Do you recognize either of these boys? They were abandoned at the local Katy Dog Park on Franz Rd on 3/24.

The smaller dog is believed to be only 3 months old and we really want to find a foster & Rescue to help him. He is believed to be a Chiweenie at 13 lbs.

The larger dog is believed to be a shepherd mix at 75 lbs.

None of them had collars and no microchips.

We don’t know exactly what breed both Ricky & Fisher are, but they do have physical characteristics of a pit bull.

Ricky & Fisher both display those qualities 💯! They get overlooked because of the stigma of the breed they look like. Please do not let that stop you from missing out on the love these two dogs give!

Ricky is the best fella. He is so loving to EVERYONE he meets - kids, men, women, other dogs.
He loves to give kisses 😘 and just cuddle 🤗

💜 Gamora 💜
She was found roaming around Katy on 2/27/25. You may recognize the name from the popular Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy series. We named her Gamora because of her warrior spirit from being on her own.

Gamora is a sweetheart who has quickly become a favorite among staff and volunteers. She weighs between 40-50 lbs and is a mix breed.

She loves to cuddle, play with toys and enjoy the sunshine. She has the most adorable markings on her coat.

This has been a HUGE team effort to help Louise and we are so thankful to the foster for opening her heart & home to our Louise. And a huge thanks to Belles Buds Rescue for supporting her!

I-RISH you to check out these three black dogs of ours! Did you know black dogs are overlooked the most at shelters and at adoption events?

Elphaba is a young black and tan coonhound with a zest for life! She would love to go on walks or play in a yard.

Alvin is our longest resident (380ish days). He may be a big boy but he loves to give love to everyone he meets!

Baloo is a young Great Dane mix. He is a happy boy who is eager to please.

We also have Brutus, Timber and Lucy who you can meet in the comments!
