Puppy
It’s hard to keep up when your legs are only 6” long
Fluffy dogs sure do soak up a lot of water

Mallie
Mallie is working her way through the double T drill. In this run she was supposed to stop and take a “ back” cast and then stop and take a left “over” cast. As you can see she needs more work on “back” cast. But this is normal progress through this drill. She is doing very well. What we want most is to maintain “momentum” while refining “precision” and getting the correct casts.
House
Obedience training in the house. With many “distractions”
Double T
Moved from the T drill to the Double T. One of my favorite drills. After a few weeks of this their handling skills really start to reach another level
Introduction to gunshot
This is my favorite method for introduction to the gunshot. Once we have finished “delivery to hand” training and have gotten a little progress on steadiness we introduce the gunshot. I use bumper launcher that uses .22 caliber blanks to launch the bumper. It is very load and is just like a gunshot. I am able to start a long ways away from the launcher where the sound is much less and depending on the dogs reaction I will slowly get closer during the training session, until we are able to be right next to the “gun”. Sometimes this takes a week, sometimes a couple days. Just depends on the dog.
Force to pile
Pile training, early stages of training for blind retrieval
Drills
Drill, drill, drill. Handling training
Little Rosie bringing in the big honkers
Morning routine
Morning routine, boys go out in one yard, girls in another. Empty water buckets, scoop up solids, hang up beds, pick up food bowls, spray disinfectant, rinse out kennels, fill water buckets, and let dry.
T drill
30 degrees felt like 75 today. Great day for more T drill
T drill
Had to cut the drills short today. Too cold for this much running

On Fridays we try to keep it nice and simple. Yardwork doing an introduction to double retrieves for this guy.#goose
