2 dogs were brought in this evening by Kearney Police. They were found wandering on Sarah Lane.
No microchips found and no collars on either.
Black lab neutered male and fawn female great dane.

🐾Pet Tip Tuesday🐾
It is blistering old outside! Even though some pets enjoy playing in the snow and livestock can't be brought into the house, here are some cold weather safety tips to keep them safe, happy and healthy.
🐾Cold weather wellness: colder weather may worsen some medical conditions such as arthritis. Long Veterinary Clinic has arthritis management options for dogs, cats and horses.
🐾Know their limits: Just like us our pets' cold tolerance can vary from pet to pet. Be aware of your pet's tolerance and adjust accordingly. Shorten walks in very cold weather to protect you both from weather-associated health risks. Arthritic and elderly pets may have more difficulty walking and be prone to slipping and falling on ice. Long-haired or thick-coated dogs tend to be more cold-tolerant while short-haired pets feel the cold faster because they have less protection.
🐮Protective shelter: provide a safe place for livestock to be able to get out of the extreme weather elements.
🐴Water and nutrition: older livestock may require consumption of more calories to heat themselves. Check that water troughs and buckets are unfrozen. Provide access to salt block to ensure water consumption of horses to prevent colic.

Long Veterinary Clinic, Long Veterinary Clinic Grooming and Long Veterinary Clinic Daycare and Boarding are ALL CLOSED today Wednesday January 1, 2025.
We will resume normal business hours on Thursday, January 2.

🐾🎉HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE🎉🐾

As the countdown to the end of 2024 begins, all of us at Long Veterinary Clinic, Long Veterinary Clinic Grooming and Long Veterinary Clinic Daycare and Boarding would like to reflect and give thanks to all those in the community and surrounding areas. Thank you for your continued support and entrusting in us with your animal's health care needs. We are so grateful to be able to do what we do.
We would like to share a recap video of our memories made this year.
Our clinic's New Year Resolution for 2025 is to continue to be the best we can be. Continue to be a strong team that provides high quality and affordable veterinary services for animals big and small.

🐾Hosting holiday photo events to raise money for the K-9 Unit dogs of Clay County Sheriff's and Kearney Police Department
🐾Receiving Best of the Northland awards in 6 categories
🐾Second annual Santa Paws Event fundraiser for the adopt a pet program
🐾Extending our PAWS day events throughout the year
🐾Providing dental (float) care to 50 plus retired/rehabilitation horses
🐾Collecting donations for the Kearney Police Department shop with a cop
🐾Offering semester internships for senior highschool students in the Northland CAPS and workstudy programs
🐾Celebrating 50 year anniversary of Long Veterinary Clinic and 20 year anniversary of Dr. Leighr's ownership with an open house event for the Long Equestrian Center
🐾Hosted our 1st horse show for MNAHA
